California is confronting first significant rolling blackouts since 2001.  Over the August 14th-16th weekend, the State was challenged by a number of factors – the heatwave, insufficient procurement of resources, changing system needs, and a reduction in energy imports – to balance out the anticipated supply and demand needs for the Grid.  And, potentially, we are looking toward similar outages the rest of the week.  See for more info in this Utility Drive article.

Jason Zeller has over thirty years of professional experience in public utility regulation, including experience in all of the industries regulated by the CPUC. Previously he served as an Assistant General Counsel at the Commission for twelve years and was a staff counsel for six years.
