get out of contract with Verizon without paying fees

I'm a verizon customer, they've misinformed me since the beginning when I was paying exhorbitant roaming fees without even understanding what they were. Finally i called and got a rep who fixed things.... however the fix was temporary as the fees are outrageous. My 80 year old mom, my 15 yr old ( the only user with unlimed texting /pix flix and myself are on family plan. My mom use in case of emergency while alone, my son has never uses much at all, me 23 texts per month... together we use 220 minutes of our 550 per month. Our bill is 130.00. The told me it would be around 90 per month after one time activation fee. It's never beeen less than 129.00. How do I get away???? My mom is in a nursing home.... does not need phone again. HELP ME!!! I'm single mom on a desperate budget
