Pioneer
Am using Pioneer long distance service and have never been happier with my service. More affordable, for a senior citizen and just plain quality service.
Pioneer Telephone
I have had service from Pioneer for years - They are fabulous. Cheap, easy to reach, always friendly.
Telna is the cheapest and highest quality Long Distance Provider
I have been a happy customer of Telna Long Distance Phone Service for 2 years now and put together a web page to explain why Telna is simply the best quality and lowest cost provider of long distance telephone service out there. I'm a penny pincher and came to discover Telna through a lot of research and trial and error with other providers.

Slanderous Advertising
This "review" is a pack of lies as it is written by an agent for the carrier. An agent makes money for every sale plus a residual or a percentage of your phone bill for the life of your account with that carrier.
The "reviewer"/agent states call quality with Pioneer was horrible, which is completely untrue. Pioneer's call quality is excellent and can compete with the best of the best carriers globally.
As President of Pioneer, I challenge the "reviewer" to put up or shut up ! Tell us your account number with Pioneer to prove you ever had an account with Pioneer and lets see if you ever tried the service !
This is simply an attack on the industry leader in telecommunications - when nothing else works, lie !
We guarantee our service to be top notch.
All calls are answered by customer service reps in Portland, Maine in 10 seconds or less.
All billings are run three times and reviewed before an invoice is ever sent to a customer to insure a correct bill every time.
Pioneer has a 93% first call resolution.
Pioneer Long Distance
It's great to have the President of Pioneer comment on our site. The negative comment appears to have been made by another reseller; not from a consumer. The review looks like an ad, which we do not allow on our site. However, because you responded, it would be a shame to remove it. UCAN has had no complaints about the time it takes Pioneer to answer consumer calls. But, there are some questions I would like to ask you to please answer/clarify:
1. On your website, it provides a place for people to enter a portion of their numbers. I entered 2 AT&T #s and the rate came out what is most advertised at first glance. I then entered 3 Cox #s since I found out after the fact, that they are considered Tier 3 and therefore, are more expensive. Sir, 2 of the 3 Cox #s came out the lower AT&T rate. How can you differentiate between a number ported from AT&T to Cox?
2. Shouldn't 2 of the 3 Cox #s that resulted in the lowest rates from your website be charged the rates the "detail" box results show?
3. The rounding of minutes and charges per call do not appear to match 2 of our consumer bills. On the 3rd consumer bill, we found a correction from one month to the next after we called to dispute and get clarification. Could you please tell me whether you round up to the nearest fraction of a cent or not?
Thank you in advance for your answers.
www.PioneerTelephone.net to the rescue
Power Net Global shut off a whole lot of customers do to their screw up of changing their network from Qwest (who stinks) to Williams or Level 3 (nice 55 cent stock price !). Those of us that have a freeze on our line so we don't get slammed got shut off today. We didn't even get a notice until a few days ago about the change and it was AFTER they changed the network (illegal by the way)
So anyway I switched to PioneerTelephone dot net and it was simple.

Cancelled long distance and now Verizon wants to charge $10 fee
I had long distance through Vartec but rarely used it and went to a calling card instead. Therefore, I called Vartec and cancelled their long distance services on both my phone lines. I live in a rural area and need the phone lines for both dial-up and my fax machine. I can get the my dial-up through a local access number, and I have found out I can use the fax machine (one attached to an all-in-one printer) with a land line phone attached and calling card access. When I called Verizon and told them about cancelling Vartec, I was told that there would be a $10 charge per line to cancel my long distance service provider through them. When I asked what happened if I didn't agree to pay that fee and just left it in place, they seemed to indicate that Vartec could still charge me services even though I have cancelled my service with Vartec. I didn't choose to pay Verizon's cancellation fee at that time until I investigated the fee more thoroughly and have not yet done so. My question is this: If I have cancelled my service through Vartec, why should I now pay Verizon a $20 ($10 for each line) fee to terminate billing through them? If I am no longer using Vartec and the service is cancelled through them, and I don't plan on getting any other long distance service, why should I pay Verizon this additional $20? My calling card is working fine without any long distance service. Vartec will not be billing me through Verizon if I am not using their services; therefore, what could Verizon pass charges through to me on?
More useful resources on this
I have found this FCC website section very helpful for telephone related information: http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/information_directory.html
There are many articles, including phone scams to avoid.
Also, another useful site for calling service reviews is http://www.callingbargains.com where you will find some really useful stuff such as area codes for USA, short description of various phone plans and other related information.
Local service
The online resources listed under Tab 10 can assist consumers in finding long distance providers who offer competitive rates, billing increments, and no monthly fees.
- I don't know what you mean by under Tab 10 - I looked at #10 and it didn't list a resource. I am trying to find an inexpensive local only telephone plan. There are many resources for long distance plans - not many for local.
I found Pioneer Telephone on Phone Dog
I've used Pioneer Telephone for long distance service for 2 years now and saved 60% off ATT's horrible rates. Service and billing is far superior to ATT as well.
Better search site for ld
Try using:
www.PhoneDog.com
A Bell Tolls doesn't keep their site up to date.
