Verizon Wireless USB Modem.

My Verizon UM 175 modem has burnt out on me 3 times in the past 2 years. Everytime I go to the Verizon store and take it in, it is a 2 hour ordeal. Im done with it. I just want out of my commitment which is about 9 months. Verizon says they are not responsible for the equipment even though they sold it to me. I feel that the service is unreliable and it not reasonable to have to go into the store every 2 months to change it out. This product is faulty and not working out for me. Of course Verizon disagrees, and they just want their 60.00 per month.

Anybody got any suggestions as to how to get out of this commitment?

internet dial up

I would like to know which governmental agency handles, internet disputes, I submitted to FCC, they don't handle internet disputes, FTC only takes the informtion for class action purposes, CPUC does not handle complaints either, so who does regulate internet?

SPRINT wireless overcharges

From the time we first began our contract with SPRINT we opted out of the web related features including text messaging, etc. Yet repeatedly we find charges for text messages sent to us.

Aside from the fact that these messages come to us by mistake, we shouldn't be billed for a service we refused repeatedly. When I spot the charge on the billing statement and contact SPRINT customer support we are led to believe it won't happen again, still it does. I suspect it is a widespread problem with SPRINT using the errors as a valued revenue stream.

Overcharges

After I corrected the $1.50 month fee for processing my check card. I noticed that I was being charged for a towing fee $2.99 for the last twenty months. As usual AT&T response was I should pay closer attention to my bill. I agreed I was to blame for not watching them & then contacted the FCC and filed an online complaint. I received a nice letter and a phone call offering to reimburse the $60.00 charged for a service I didn't want or order.

Overcharging Wireless Account

AT&T wireless is charging a $1.50 per month transaction fee to process my automatic payment from my checking account. I have called repeatedly & have been told it is not their policy to charge a fee. I guess they just can't help themselves .

Astronomical charges from AT&T

I got a one-month internet bill for $3,540.00 from AT&T because their defective software defaulted to a long-distance number for my internet. So, essentially, per AT&T I was on a long-distance call all month. I was even called by their technical department telling me the same and NOBODY in customer service has the authority to take off such a charge. I spent countless months talking to their unnamed service reps in India and other countries trying to resolve this matter. At one point they took off half of the bill! I finally resorted to the Attorney General's office. I should have done what my brother had to do with them and that is immediately file a claim in Small Claim's Court. At least that way somebody responsible from the company has to show up. Believe me people, it is worth the filing fee of #25.00 or whatever it is. I cancelled my phone and internet with AT&T on day one of all of this and continued to get erroneous bills that were impossible to have been mine for connection fees etc. This company should be shut down. If I could find a lawyer that would sue on a contingency basis for the stress all of this has caused me I would do it in a heartbeat.

Local toll charges for dial-up service

Although you may choose an internet dial-up phone number that is in your same area code this does not mean that you are making a free local call. The three digit prefix after your area code determines if the call will be free on a local toll call. All internet providers tell you to verify that the number you choose is not a local toll call. This was a much bigger problem with AOL subscribers. Now most people have DSL or another high speed internet service that does not use regular phone numbers. AT&T will tell you we just connect your calls, we don't select the number you call. Take the partial credit and verify your dial-up number.

ATT overcharging for local toll calls

SBC switched to ATT on my bills for the May 2006 billing cycle. Starting in August 2007, my local toll calls started increasing. Unfortunately, I didn't notice it until my March 2007 payment. I have used Juno dialup for my internet service fo the past 10 years or more. I have always chosen any 858 or 619 access number and have NEVER been charged a toll fee until ATT took over. My pending ATT local bill will be $178.65 for May!!

I just spoke with a person from ATT who offered me a one time adjust of $35. I asked her if her manager could do any better, she said no, so I said that I would think about it. She said the local toll charges are based on population & mileage.

Any suggestions? I imagine this is happening to a lot of people. The are also charging $3.99 a month now for internal wire service.
