Privacy laws does not include Friends unless authorized by those responsible for themselves. AS someone who who has friends in an RCFE, let me suggest the following.
1. For frequent personal calls you may want to suggesT a cell phone or an additional line. These facilities have call waiting, but yes you may haVe to follow behind other residents using line.

2. By law license facilities cannot disclose confident information to a friend unless authorized. You may want to have your friend add you to the emergency call list.

3. We received a copy of this facility price list long before moving in. Ask your friend to review.

4. Incontinent care is charged at all facilities we looked at not just this one.

Sorry to hear about your issues but I believe this resident complain loudly about all charges. To bad the administrator gave in to her grievances. Sorry I over heard their conversation as she rejected her offer to talk in her room.

MY CLOSE FRIEND HAS BEEN STAYING AT PINE TREE COTTAGE RETIREMENT HOMES APX 3 1/2 MONTHS. OUR MAJOR COMPLAINTS ARE NON COMPLIANCE WITH PRICING. COORDINATOR CHARGED HIGHER THAN ORIGINALLY AGREED TO IN SIGNED CONTRACT BY BOTH PARTIES INVOLVED. CHARGES ARE EXCESS FOR ADULT DIAPERS & OTHER EXTRA SERVICES.
STAFF SEEMS TO BE VERY POLITE & KNOWLEDGEABLE, BUT OVERWORKED. STAFF TO CLIENT RATION IS OUT OF SIGHT. ONE STAFF TO 5-6 CLIENTS.
UNABLE TO CONTACT THIS SITE BY PHONE NO MATTER WHAT TIME OF DAY AM OR PM. NO ONE EVER ANSWER THE PHONE SO YOU DON'T OR CANT TALK TO YOUR LOVED ONE. THE CREATES STRESS BETWEEN RESIDENT NOT ABLE TO COMMUICATION WITH OUTSIDE WORLD, OR FOR LOVED ONES TO CONTACT THE RELATIVES STAYING AT PINE TREE COTTAGE.
I HAVE APPROACHED THE STAFF REGARDING THE PHONE CRISIS, THEYTOLD ME THERE IS A PORTABLE PHONE LOCATED IN THE MAIN AREA OF THE HOUSE, WITHOUT ANY EXTENSIONS PHONES. STAFF STATED TO ME THAT WITH BEEN BUSY WITH THEIR PATIENTS, LAUNDRY ROOM IS SO LOUD THEY CAN HEAR THE PHONE RING. EXISTING PHONE IS TURNED TO MAXIUM VOLUME. EXISTING PHONE NEEDS TO RE-EALUATED IMMEDIATELY & GET A NEW PHONE SYSTEM THAT WORKS PROPER & IN
AN EMERGENY!! MY FRIEND HAD TO BE TAKEN BY AMBULANCE NUMEROUS TIMES TO GROSSMONT HOSPITAL, BUT I WAS NOTIFIED UNTIL SHE CALLED ME FROM THE ER.

Well, this place is a SHAM as well.

I placed my mom in this place early this year. Sure it looks like a nice warm, fuzzy place to put your love one there. But months later you then find out the ugly result. They took your $$$ to suppose "care" for your love one. And hasn't done anything to assisted them. And the owner still thinks that she did wonderful work on your love one. Ugh, so far, my mother's health has deteriorated, and I have doctors documented to proof against what the owner suppose "wonderful care that her facility provided"; and how she mircaculously cured my mom's health by her "LOVE".

This owner apparently is high most the time. And the caregivers that owner hired to work there. Bunch of them don't speak any good English. And of all the visits I have gone to see my mom. There were little kid that seemed to be living there. You then wonder, why is this 3 year old here? the caregiver say the child lives closer to the residential care, and he is just visiting. But on the days I visits my moms and I have seen the kids there for all the visits. I don't know it sounds a bit suspicious to me to believed the story. Is it even allowed in a boarding care?!

Oh, the owner of this facility knows the rules well enough to recite it, and when they stop all of my mom's medications. I got really worry, and when I called them up on that note. The owner has the nerve to tell me that it was the doctors who stop the medication. Then I went to find all the doctors to check on the story,and find out that no doctors has stop any of the medication. And this owner still abide by her story, but when I inquiry further about the detail on who is the one. She then give me a bogus doctor at UCSD, who was a intern at the facility. I'm sorry, any individual knows that no interns at any facility can stop the medication for no reason. They do not have the authority to stop any medication.

Anyways, I am moving my mom out of the that place.

I'm just here to tell all, please stay away from that hellish place. It may look like a good place to place your loved one. But the underneath it all, the truth about it is a scam. They just there to take your money and let your love one withered.

There is no care what-so-ever. Because the owner of that facility do not take any responsibility of its caregivers nor does the owner listen to what the caregivers is telling about the residents behaviors at all.

This facility, I believed is hiring non-legal aliens to work there. Since the owner once released me the information that she paid them way below the market values for the work these supposed caregiver has done. 5 days a week at least 24 hours a day. and only give them $900! wow. You know that the facility is probably staffed with illegal immigrants.

Pine Tree Cottage is an RCFE that has remained in substantial compilance in its nearly 17 years since inception.
It is okay to choose who to do business with, but this is one persons opinion. Don't be mislead and loose out because one individual could not afford their service. i hear they even were offered a discount to this family and still they could not afford this level of care, dont get me wrong I was not happy to hear their complain about their savings. Well others almost made the mistake by looking at other options including the facility this family eventually moved to. needless to say I am glad she moved and we did not.
if you should ask this one person about ther opinion please ask about about the other facility this family used for you will find their complained to be the same and all stem about money.
by the way i heard she donated an old broken phone that that yes the manager removed from her facility. this item was never stolen. she should go to the source and resend her donation. it's okay to be an indian giver.

IF YOU SHOULD CALL THIS LADY ASK WHERE ARE THE OTHER UNHAPPY CLIeNTS IN A FACILITY SO WELL RAN BY NURSES OF 17 YEARS. SO READERs BELIEVE IF YOU WANT to. IT CLEARLY SOUNDS AS IF SHE WANTED TO CHANGE THE WAY THIS WONDERFUL PLACe DOES BUSINESS.

one other word of advise try interviewing current resident and asking for recommendations, we did. with 17 years under their belt i am sure they have more than this one individual who's family member was seen asking the nursing to not allow her family to do this he by moving her. this is a facility where i am comfortable walking into their open door policy and seeing other families enjoying the luss ground.

Concerned family

I've heard that their not up to date on the books and people were getting short changed on their hours when they were working there. The staff that work there don't see the extra money and I'm sure other shady stuff go on there that hasn't been disclosed that should be investigated.
