San Diego gasoline prices break all-time record high of $3.43 a gallon

UCAN News
Today gas surged to a new all-time record high of $3.443 per gallon on average in San Diego County according to UCAN's authoritative local gasoline survey at www.fueltracker.com

The new record exceeds all historic record highs beating last year's record of $3.43 on May 11, 2006.

This new record high is 13¢ more than the price of gas this day last year when prices surged to what was -- at that time -- another record-breaking high of 3.289 in San Diego county.

Last year on this day, oil traded on the NYMEX at $73.70 (source).  Today,  NYMEX oil is selling at $64.40 a barrel  or $9 less per barrel. On a cents per gallon basis, the oil in a gallon of gasoline now costs 22¢ less per gallon than it did last year, according to UCAN.
Nationally, the price of gas on average in now $2.97, up 10 cents in a week and up 6 cents over this day last year.
