REMINDER!
June 16, 2008
Dear Friend of UCAN,
It isn't often that we send out e-mails to you but we think this is something that deserves your immediate attention. If you've looked at your recent SDG&E bill you've seen the startling increases in natural gas (and electric) prices over the past few months. Much of that is attributable to the ridiculous speculation going on in the oil and natural gas markets. But some of it is attributable to SDG&E trying to shift costs for its large customers onto residential customers.
SDG&E is up to its old tricks again with natural gas. It is proposing that costs for public purpose programs that have been shared by large and small gas customers should now be paid primarily by residential customers. It seems like sharing the burden has now become too much of a burden for the large commercial and industrial customers.
The Public Utilites Commission is holding hearings next Tuesday(June 17th) in the UTC/La Jolla area and we recommend that you attend the hearing and let the regulators know your thoughts about this really bad proposal.
