Who is UCAN?
The Utility Consumers’ Action Network has vigorously protected the interests of San Diego County utility customers since 1983. Our mission is to ensure fair utility rates and billing practices countywide through our advocacy work in front of the California Public Utilities Commission and in courtroom litigation. We also intervene on behalf of individuals to help resolve service and billing issues with utility providers.
UCAN focuses primarily on the rates and services of San Diego Gas & Electric Company (SDG&E), the City of San Diego Water Department (and other San Diego County water departments), cell phone carriers and cable companies Cox Communications, Spectrum, AT&T and DirecTV.
Public support is a key source of funding for our activities as a 501(c)(3) non-profit, in addition to awards and grants. We encourage all San Diego ratepayers to consider supporting UCAN as a member and / or volunteer.
