It was a High-Noon face-off at The Boxing Club in University City as UCAN's Executive Director took on the Gargantuan Glutton of Greed and Pink Porker of Oil Profits, a.k.a The Big Oil Hog. The two foes squared off in a boxing ring and the fisticuffs (and pigs) flew furiously.

At the event, the Utility Consumers’ Action Network (UCAN) announced the availability of a new guide entitled: UCAN’s Guzzler Buster: 127 Secrets to Squeezing More Miles From Each Gallon. This 32-page multi-color guide will be made available for free to all San Diego County residents. UCAN's goal is to encourage San Diegans to fight back against persistently high prices in Southern California (50 cents above the national average throughout April and May) by using less gasoline.

It has printed an initial edition of 20,000 copies to be distributed free to San Diego residents and UCAN members. Depending upon the success of this effort, more copies may be printed. To get the guide, click on the link below.
