Gas prices surpass record highs: San Diego average breaches $3.50 a gallon

Today UCAN's Gasoline Project (cheap gas locator) showed that gas prices have surpassed $3.50 a gallon, up ten cents from last Saturday. 

The previous record high for gasoline in San Diego County was $3.43 for a gallon of regular unleaded on May 11, 2006. On that day, oil was selling for $70.19 a barrel on the NYMEX, at a per-gallon price of $1.67. 

As of yesterday, (Friday, May 4, 2007), oil closed at less than $62 a barrel, or $1.47 a gallon.
