Monday, March 3, 2008 - Today, UCAN's gasoline price tracking project reported a new regional average for gasoline of $3.498 a gallon, just two-tenths of a penny shy of the all-time record high price for gasoline set on May 9 of 2007. Even worse, the cost of diesel fuel now averages almost $4 a gallon, and costs nearly $1 more than it did at this day last year.

According to the manager of UCAN's Gas Project, Charles Langley, "This is the highest price we've ever seen for gasoline this early in the year. Last week we predicted that we might break the record over the weekend, but fortunately, we have not."
