PUC re-appointment of Chong rejected by Senate

Chong, who has been severely criticized by consumer groups, was first appointed in 2006 and had been seeking a term that would have lasted through 2014.   If Chong is not confirmed this year, she will be forced to step down from the Commission.   This is the first time in modern history that a PUC appointment has been rejected by the Senate.  Read why.................

Nomination of Commissioner Chong is wrong, wrong, wrong.

chongBattle brewing over PUC nominee. The governor's effort to extend the tenure of Rachelle Chong is fought by consumer groups.
