How can I get annual copies of my credit report?

How can I get annual credit reports from the major agencies?  I have found a couple of websites but they seem sketchy and ask for my social security number.  What do you recommend?

Annual Credit Report

Is there any safe way to get an annual credit report (mail, telephone, internet) without giving one's social security number. For as much as people are told not to divulge this number it seems almost impossible to get information like a credit report without revealing it. Thanks for any help you can give.

I am sending you UCAN's Credit Report Kit and Privacy Survival Guide, which
includes an order form for your credit reports. There is no charge. This kit
is a benefit of your UCAN membership.

You were correct about being cautious about some of the Websites relating to
credit reports. You are also wise to protect your Social Security number
unless you know you are sharing it with a reputable entity.

There is a method by which you can order your credit reports online but be
careful you don't accidentally get into the wrong Website. The correct web
address is: www.annualcreditreport.com

When you have time, I'd suggest that you go to the Website of our affiliate
organization, the Privacy Rights Clearinghouse at www.privacyrights.org for
lots of good information about how to protect yourself from identity theft.

Hope this information helps. Thanks so much for your support of UCAN.
