Presence of sulfur can lead

Presence of sulfur can lead to formation of eg. hydrogen sulfide, carbonyl sulfide, sulfur dioxide, carbon disulfide, and thiols; especially thiols tend to get adsorbed on surfaces and produce a lingering odor even long after the fire.

Great topic....

We unfortunately see many properties that receive tremendous fire and smoke damage that could easily be prevented if the owner has proper work smoke detectors on the premise. Its also important to change the batteries out at least 2 times per year to ensure they continue working correctly....thx for this timely topic

Excellent Idea

Offering free smoke alarms makes a lot of sense, and the newest ones now have a pause button to keep people from removing the batteries when it goes off.

Thanks,

Smoke alarms save lives

I think it's really important to install a smoke alarm in your house or flat because it can save your life. Most of the fire-related deaths at home are people that couldn't leave the building because they were asleep. A fire alarm wakes you up and gives you the chance to flee. For me, the investment was definitely worth the money and I feel much more secure than before.

That's a great idea that saves lives. The UK have a similar system for the elderly and low income owners where they can get free smoke alarms and cavity and loft insulation which should help quite a bit in the winter.

well

At least you should have less sensitive detectors in the kitchen, that when you cook it doesnt go ON.
