Eco-friendly or Eco-farce? The latest
eco-friendly trend of cleaning green
comes without regulation, so it can be
difficult for consumers to know if the
products they are buying are better
for the environment or not.

"Eco-friendly doesn't mean anything...
unfortunately marketers have figured
out that people are willing to pay a
premium, a little more, if it says eco
on it. So sometimes it does even though
it may not be eco-friendly at all," says
consumer advocate Michael Shames of
UCAN.

It can be difficult to tell if the products
are environmentally friendly even by
looking at the ingredients on the label.
Just because a product had natural oils
or juices doesn't mean it has a softer
impact on the environment.

Consumer advocates say if the label indicates the product is non-toxic it's better for the environment. Stores like
Whole Foods have done the homework for you. So you don't have to read the labels.

The eco-friendly products can be a little pricier than their more stringent chemical-based products. But you don't have to pay more to go green.

"It's as simple as these basic organic materials," says Jimme Rogers of Whole Foods. "Lemon juice on the countertops, olive oil on your furniture. There's all kinds of alternatives. We've got baking soda that's good for cleaning glass especially for your coffee pot."

If you are going to take a chance on eco-friendly products, consumer advocates say it's truly a case of buyer beware.

Great Article

I try to use "green" products as often as I can. Like the article says Whole Foods is a great place to look. You won't find many problem children there either.

I have had great success with Solumel from Melaleuca. They have a great 24 year reputation and that is why I started using them.

Awareness is important

Thanks for letting us know about the eco-scam products. I think the big problem is the lack of information many consumers have. They believe in the sign on the package and pay a high price for such a so-called "eco" product. Consumer information should increase to improve the situation and give frauds a hard time.

Do what you think you should do

I hate those scammers as

I hate those scammers as well. They do nothing to help the environment but try to make extra money using the good faitht of those that do care. I wonder how best to clean my flooring... mostly carpets.

superclean7

Im selling a bio cleaning agent, named superclean7. This product is without a doubt the best cleaning agent i've ever used & seen. It has many uses, it cleans over 100 things & it's cheaper than any other cleaning agent available here in South Africa. Its SABS approved & lab reports confirm that this product is 100% eco friendly.
The departement of health & safety encourages all people to use sk- 7.
Its worth looking into.

If you are interrested, dont hesitate to communicate.

good post

Indeed it is well to use the green products of all kinds to the environment and health of all but I think the lack of information and high prices of products are a barrier to sales

Fake produce are produced by local...

These kinds of products which are selling by the local producers are mostly fake thats why i think we should choose quality company products.

It is Green to me if it is safe foe my clients & myself!

I have a Carpet Cleaning company (Miracle Services, Inc.) here in San Diego & I'm tired of all the Enviro circus acts. I don't want to read a label that says that this cleaning products is safe for the environment but not safe for me!
What I have always expected is something that is safe for me & then for the environment.
When I clean Green it with the use of certified products that are powerful and yet soap free, odor free, hypo-allergenic, non-toxic with no VOCs and no off-gassing. Made with all natural ingredients.
In the carpet cleaning industry the Carpet & Rug Institute has certified a number of products & our Green cleaners being one of them. Can they be trusted? Probably not because they have certified a number of things that I don't agree with. My products also have the Green Seal of approval. Can they be trusted? Who knows? I have to rely on the MSDS sheets & ingredients list. When a product lists items on the MSDS sheets that are propriortory secrets then I am suspect & won't use them.
Green is just another buzz word for the current trend we are in and for me & my company GREEN should mean doing our best to protect our human selves first.

"environmentally friendly"

Unfortunately there are so many scammers out there its hard to spo the reall good products. Its not only the case with cleaning products but with every other kind of "environmentally friendly" product.

The good news is, you can actually make non-toxic cleaning supplies for less than you’d pay for those nasty toxic ones as the Dollar Store!

Actually, I never cared

Actually, I never cared about eco-friendly products, but thank god not all people are like me :D

Viagra and Healthy ED Medicine

Can Viagra be as good as other herbal products used to treat erectile dysfunction?
The answer is provided by Dr. William Warner who has been treating ED patients for years. The real problem with Viagra is its high price. The same issue that faces Cialis drug users. Online pharmacies show that Viagra prices can go up and down as generic versions of these drugs are now sold for discount prices.
Other drugs similar to Viagra don't have the same effects of Viagra but because this drug and Cialis are most effective then other pills may have side effects but no effects.
Levitra is also a decent ED drug that can be found in high dosages, like 400 mg/tablet.

Very good! Here is my

Green Cleaners

I have had fair results in the past with my commercial carpet cleaning business and wanted to use a green cleaner for my health and my customers health. I use a product called Carpet Envy right now. It's a non-toxic natural cleaner with a pH of 9.5. I add Orange Envy to bring the pH to 11 for tough traffic areas and stains. http://www.envyclean.com

Really?

really ive never seen these eco-friendly products
nothing in walmart says its better for the environment, and i dont see adds anywhere for that kind of stuff
that must be some kind of yankee thing, because none of thats here in mississippi

I agree that it's Eco farce

I agree that it's Eco farce ! No doubt !

hello

I see there is a fashion blooming regarding ecological products. Even a Furniture Store guarantees that all the materials used are non-toxic, non-harmful to the ecosystem.
