SAN DIEGO – Sen. Christine Kehoe (D-San Diego) announced today that a public hearing on the proposed 150-mile power line across Anza-Borrego Desert State Park will be held in the city of San Diego on Feb. 25, following her request last week to the California Public Utilities Commission for such a meeting.

“Providing a public hearing that is accessible to City of San Diego residents is critical if their voices are to be heard,” said Kehoe.  “I commend the agency for accommodating them and opening the doors to greater public involvement.”

The hearing will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the San Diego County Administration Center in its Board of Supervisors Chamber at 1600 Pacific Coast Highway.  The meeting will discuss the Public Utility Commission’s report on the environmental impact of the Sunrise Powerlink project.  Four similar forums will be held near the end of February in Borrego Springs, Julian, Pine Valley, and Ramona.
