How SDG&E Almost Stole Xmas
![]()
Every San Diegan in
San Diego liked Christmas a
lot.
But SDG&E DID NOT!
Like the Grinch, SDG&E
hated San Diego and the
whole Christmas season,
So it jacked up its rates with
no good cause or reason!
From its plush corporate lair
high atop Sempra Tower,
It schemed and it plotted
to make us pay more
for our power.
.
Now it could be its head
wasn't screwed on quite
right.
It could be, perhaps, that
its bank account was too
tight.
But we think the biggest
reason of all was
it truly believed that
bills were too small.
But, whatever the reason,
-its head or accounts -
it found sneaky new ways
to raise the amounts.
Like demanding more cash
for power lines to be built
with YOUR Christmas money,
but it felt no guilt.
"Surely I've done it, " it snarled
with a sneer.
"Why I've raised rates so high
there's no room for good
cheer!"
But San Diegans weren't scared
-they weren't scared at all.
They knew that with UCAN
watching, the threats were
quite small.
So SDG&E didn't stop
Christmas from coming.
And SDG&E, with a heart
cold as snow, watched
puzzling and puzzling.
Then SDG&E thought of
something it hadn't before!
"Why San Diego has a
watch dog that's guarding
its door!"
Unlike the Grinch, SDG&E
didn't celebrate Christmas
that night.
No, it probably will
never change, but
we suppose that is
alright
Because UCAN will
never back down
from a fight.
Until there is rate
justice for all, and
we all have cheap
lights.
