I suggest you contact Edison immediately and see if they can work with you by putting you on a payment plan. There are different agencies that offer financial assistance, depending on where you live. You can start by calling HEAP or visiting http://www.csd.ca.gov/Programs/Energy%20Service%20Providers.aspx to determine your local provider. There is also the CARE program. Here is the link for Edison's CARE program: http://www.sce.com/RebatesandSavings/LowIncome/careprogram.htm

We've been told by SDG&E that payments are delayed for people who applied for HEAP between November and January. However, SDG&E did say that it may offer payment plans for those who haven't received their payments. I suggest calling SDG&E before they shut off your power to see how they can work with you.

Hey everyone, I just recently took on my brothers daughter as he has moved out. He left her me and the bills,,the SDG&E bill alone is $443.48.
i'm paying all the rent & food bills by selling what little we have to pawn shops & on ebay ,there's not much left to sell.I fear we might have to relocate to how knows where...,I've been looking for work but to no avail.I've been to the church ,comunity centers & CUI, nobody has any funds availiable. please help....  I was given a phone number to call for HEAP assistance. i called on tuesday November 3rd. I was told to call back on wednesday between 8and 9 am. I did this and i got a recorded message to press 0 and an operator will assist me. the line went dead. so i called back and got the same thing over and over again. I finally got through at 2 pm and was told that i should have called between 8 and 9 am. and now it was too late for them to help me............any suggestions would be welcome............

my wife and I have worked very hard all of our life. I am 54 years old my wife and I have been marriedfor 28 years.
probleems I run into
(1) Iam not old enough nor my wife (close)
(2) We have to much
(a) the problem is when someone who has paid into all of these programs and when they need a little help over the bump in there life, there no help over the bump. The bump needs to grow into a mountain and you are loosing everything then people offer the programs.
(b) my wife and I built a nice little rentale business (9 homes) but when people lost there jobs and lived in the house for free legally for 3 months or more. We are now down to (6) homes and getting ready to lose our house.
(c) After we loose become devoriced loose all tjhe homes we will be intitled for help

My husband was recently discharged from the Us Navy and it hard or him to find employment at the moment.
