CA help

Hal,
I bought a car in CA on Nov 4th. I was told I was preapproved, and financing not a problem based on my credit score, using Experian. I do have identity theft issus on my credit, however Experian is one of the bureaus who hav successfully deleted my disputes. I explained to the dealer that i have a vehicle that i would rather sell on my own, so that my down payment is not severely high. They said "no problem, credit and income is good."
The dealer never had me sign anything about my credit or seeing my credit score (744 on Experian), I happened to notice it on one of the forms, but was not given a copy for my records.
On Nov 9th, the finance manager calls me and says there may be a problem with financing. He told me that paying an extra $2-3,000 dollars, and higher monthly payments can resolve financing issues. I denied this offer, and told him to stick to the original contract. He said he will try to get me financed.
On Nov 11th, finance mgr said he is still working on my deal, and his contacts are limited over the weekend. On Nov 12th, finance mgr leaves me a message reporting that he is working on financing, and will have a definite answer by Nov 14th.
I never heard from him on the 14th, I called to speak with a desk manager and got sent to voicemal a few times. The next morning, Nov 15th I called to get an update about the financing issues. I demanded to speak with someone, and finally the finance mgr comes on the phone. He then tells me that he has send my info to a lender who also takes the credit bureau that the dealer uses, showing my high credit score, and none of my id theft charges. He states that he hopes to have me financed by Nov 19th. He said he would not like to put me in a predicament and have to return the car... It has been more than 10 days, I have not received any rescision notices, and he says on Nov 19th I may be financed.

What happens if they cannot finance me? And, do I have to return the car? Who would i send my payments to if, dealer cannot finance me? What is the smartest option? I'm worried that if i opt to return the vehicle and not deal with their inconveniences, then i will be charged and lose more $$...

Thanks Hal,
And hopefully I can have an answer before the 19th :/
