Peak Oil
Oops, I didn't see peak oil as an option in your poll. That amazes me. Peak oil is here now folks, and current prices are cheap.
Poll Choices
Making the gouging answer the first choice may catch some that won't read further, but I do agree, from the choices given.
In a free market society I'd have to say the administration's lack of leadership is proper. Let the market find it's own level. Beyond that I'd say we may need some price regulation as gasoline usage in this country is as necessary as other "Utilities" we regulate. Water, Electricity and Natural Gas provided to our homes! Why not to our cars?
Turmoil in the Middle East could be a legitimate choice, but prices of crude are down. That leaves room for speculators, but where's that choice?
Selecting the crossover to seasonal changes is succumbing the industry rhetoric. Don't be fooled. Those costs are planned for and spread over the entire operation.
To select the last choice is an indication you're not taking this poll seriously.
