I would recommend http://cableservice.in/ for any US
Cable Service map.
Cable companies are offering VoIP telephone (Telephone Cable Service) service, which is helping to drive down the price of

traditional phone calls from traditional phone companies. Offers interactive video, voice and data services to midsize cities

in the Southeast United States.

Time warner install

I just switched to time warner for the digital phone only, the only question i need answered is, do there installers have any pride?

they left a mess, i got 50' of telephone cord and 20'of cable to my modem that is 3' from the phone jack, the cables are tangled and knotted, they could not be bothered to put my TV back after they moved it to take the existing cable modem.

maybe i am just unreasonable????

Should I switch from AT&T to Time Warner?

Time Warner is after me to switch my phone service to them (from AT&T), as well as upgrade my cable service (which includes internet). They guarantee a rate that's lower than I'm paying now, for a year. I don't understand all the implications of this. Do you think I'll be sorry I switched?

Thanks
Diane

Reply to using Time Warner package

I switched from AT&T about 6 months ago, their support was unreliable and error-prone. Time Warner has good service, but be aware that you will pay top dollar for their services. I currently pay $155 for unlimited digital phone, cable (with a premium channel I don't even want), and dsl internet. That is more than I was led to believe. The kicker is they do not provide consumers with an itemized bill, so you don't know how much your individual services cost. I suggest you look around for the cheapest individual services before commiting to a package deal. It's hard to back out once you are in their system. Good luck. Candace

Deciding on internet/television/telephone cable packages

Before choosing a package, decide how you will use and how often you will use the various parts of the package. For example, when considering telephone use, how often do you make domestic or international long distance calls? What are the average lengths of those calls? Could you do better elsewhere and have it be less expensive than a cable package? How much television do you watch and are there any "must have" channels? Unfortunately, if you're interested in only one special channel, you might have to include a package of several channels you won't watch to get the one you want. Is the added cost affordable and worth it to you? Finally, when you've decided what you want, call your cable company and ask what the final cost will be including fees and taxes. (In other words, what will the cable company expect you to pay once the bill arrives?) There are no easy answers and what works for a year or two may not work down the road and you will be doing all of this again. The bottom line is, when you think you are being taken advantage of, threaten to switch services, and if necessary, do it.
