876 Scam
I got a call and when I saw the number I got it confused with our daughters area code so answered it. He told me his name was "Mr. Washington" but in a way that told me it wasn't. He then told me I had won $5m. I told him "don't don't don't call this number again" and hung up. He called back using call block and I let the answering machine get it. He talked to it telling me that the F.B.I. and the C.I.A. were taping the conversation, I answered the phone and told him "good, so am I." I can't but wanted him to think that. Well I told him to hold on and got my husband to pick up the other phone to listen to him. He then told me I had won $450,000, the amount shrunk between calls I guess. I told him I knew it was a scam, he of course told me it wasn't. Then I asked him what he wanted, he told me I had to pay $150 for a state stamp tax, whatever that may be, in order to get my money delivered to me in a package brought to me by the Marshal. I burst out laughing at him and told him to take the fee out of my winnings. This made him mad, and he called me a "bitch." Needless to say this made my husband very angry. He had a few choice words to say to him and then the man told him "I know where you live and I am coming to shoot you." My husband told him "you stupid S.O.B. do you think you are the only one that owns a gun? Come on, mine needs a bit of target practice" and then he hung up on him. I don't know for sure but I think it was him that called right back, I let the machine get it and when it did he hung up, then he called back again but forgot to block it and again I let the machine get it. If they start to call in the middle of the night like some have had them do I will just unplug the phones when we go to bed, and have everyone call the cells if they need to get hold of us. This is not my first dealings with these people, they called about 6 months ago too. I tried to put this call on phone block but it wouldn't take it, when I called the operator she told me the call was not from anyone in the states and that was why it wouldn't take it. Something needs to be done about these people. The number they use was 876-589-2825 I haven't seen it on here, but they probably have hundreds of numbers they are using.
