Unicel

We have been using Unicel and a bag phone in the North Woods of Maine these last few years - we were promised that with the new regulations concerning digital communications that we could continue using Unicel service during the summer (last year) and that towers were bring built to accommodate that area - Unicel sent us a small cell phone, telling us we could no longer use our bag phone - so my husband signed a contract with them under those conditions - we went North and the phone didn't pick up any signal at all and there were no new towers - nothing - we finally reached Unicel when we returned home and requested that they hook up our bag phone which they finally did - this summer the bag phone is not going to be able to be used and as we are still under contract to Unicel and will be until next March - we will have no phone service for the summer and there are still no new towers - I have a medical condition and a phone is absolutely necessary - we live an hour from the nearest village and electricity and land lines - I have spoken with a Unicel representative and he said that the area in Maine where we are located is on the fringe of their network and just because we have no service is no reason to terminate the contract - although I might add that US Cellular does get a signal up there as does Verizon - what - if anything - can we do ??
