Sprint Broadband adding on additional charges and fees
I have a Sprint Broadband Card for internet access - the charge had been $59.99/month + an additional $0.55 monthly for "Federal Wireless Number Pooling and Portability" + "Federal E911"
This month I was charged the additional "Sprint Fees" of "Federal-Univ Serv Assess Non-LD" $0.96 and "California State PUC User Fee" $0.07.
They've also started collecting "Government Fees and Taxes" of CA State 911 tax $0.31, High Cost Part A $0.13, High Cost Part B $0.79, CA Relay Service Fund $0.22, Tele Fund Charge $0.08 and Univ Lifeline Serv Charge $0.70
Since this is a wireless data card and not a mobile/cellular phone, I don't believe they should be collecting ANY of these fees.
I spoke with a Sprint customer service representative today who stated that as Sprint sees fit, it will add additional charges ("Sprint Fees") to my account to compensate for fees it incurs from the government. She also referred me to an FCC 800 number to call regarding the "Government Taxes and Fees" that Sprint now collects on my data card but did not prior to this bill. She did state that Sprint began using a new billing system as of May 3rd and that may explain why my billing due date is earlier than prior bills. I smell a class action lawsuit!
