Time for overlays NOT splits
This is the second time I'm having to go through a split of my area code. First it was 619, now it's 760, and soon to be 442. This changing of so many existing numbers in the 760 area code is just plain stupid. This is especially hard on businesses in the area. I now have to get everything reprinted and have to inform all my customers of the change. A number is a number. This is all computerized so leave the existing area code alone. Give new customers the choice of one or the other until 760 is maxed out and then go to 442 for all new customers. Having to dail the area code for all calls? Big deal I do that all the time, now, any way. The dumbest thing of splits is it never ends. No matter how long they say 442 will be good for, one thing you can count on is that it will max out sooner than they say. With overlays the existing numbers stay as they are. Let's get a class action lawsuit going to stop the split.
