calls for other people
The only debt my husband and I have is for our house and it's always paid on time. However we get several phone calls a day from debt collectors. One is calling for the man we bought our house from four years ago. We had never met him prior to buying the house and had no communication or relationship with him outside of buying his house. We have no idea where he went after he sold us his house. The phone number we have is not the same one he had. However we get daily calls for him, and we have told them he does not live here and that we don't know where he is, most of the calls are just recordings. If we don't answer or are not home, we get voicemail with that last bit of thier computer message. The second group of phone calls is for someone we never heard of, we get recorded calls for her too most of the time, when we get a live one we tell them we have never heard of her, but we keep getting those calls. The third one is for my sister. She used our phone once to call another company, she used her tax return to pay off her student loan and was visiting us and used our phone. She told them not to put the number down as her number and told them it was Not her number. She paid off that debt completely. However she has another debt for a credit card where she tried to make a payment plan after she was laid off her job. They would not accept any of the amounts she offered and now they are calling my house daily. They will not accept that she does not live here. I have told her to do something about her debt, but she is an adult and I can't force her and I darn sure am not going to pay her bills. Now between the three of them I get at least three calls a day, often more. I am tired of it, how do i get rid of them?
