Lets take a bite out of the Oil Company's profits
I'm obviously not the first person to propose this action. It is simple in theory, but logistically tough to coordinate. I'm thinking UCAN may have the resources to coordinate a large scale demonstration, one Oil Company at a time. We don't have a choice whether or not to buy fuel, but we can choose which company we buy it from.
If a majority of the consumers in this country (especially truckers!!) target a specific Oil Company and stop buying that company's fuel for a month, wouldn't that send a clear message? It would sure take a bite out of earnings for that quarter.
Thats how Walmart is squeezing out "mom and pop stores" all across the country. Obviously Oil Companies have deeper pockets so the results will take longer, but if a company doesn't sell it’s product it will eventually have to rethink its business practices or go under.
I don't believe for one second that the reason fuel costs are climbing is due to a limited supply. The Oil Companies are greedy and they know that consumers will pay any amount to have the fuel they need. I don't know of any better way to fight back than to demonstrate that we have a choice!!
I haven't lived in San Diego since 2005 but I grew up there, and still have friends there. UCAN has a reputation for getting results, and I'm hoping to kindle a rebellion against big oil companies that will spread throughout the country.
