YOU can help REDESIGN the water bills!!
Ladies and Gentlemen:
I have a very special announcement to make. This summer SPUD will launch a “new and improved” Customer Care Solutions billing system. They are giving YOU, the CONSUMER, an opportunity to share how you would like this new system to work.
How many times have you reviewed your water bill lamenting the jumble of numbers, scorning the inconsistencies, and damning the confusing appearance of ceaselessly unclear information?
The survey consists of four main questions but allows room for you to type your overall opinion at the end. The city is attempting to create a bill similar to SDG&E or Cox. Unfortunately, water is a little more complicated because of rate changes and inconsistent meter reads so we hope they can manage. With your help they might just make it work.
Here are some things UCAN would like to see (and if you agree you should make the suggestions in the survey):
1. Clear notification of a rate change if it happened in the middle of a billing cycle.
2. Information on how the sewer bill is calculated.
3. Enough clarity for San Diegans to look at their bill and verify for themselves that all the charges are correct.
Any of you can go online and make suggestions such as these. Perhaps you even need it in a bigger font or would like to see more color. Whatever your suggestions might be, this is your opportunity.
Even if you don’t have any suggestions for improvements this is your chance to tell them the issues you have with the bill and leave it to their creative minds to think of a solution.
