Customers are just another number to them
That is an appalling way to do business but all too common. Companies that approach customer service in this manner are extremely short-sighted. I think it tends to be a case of large companies not training their employees to be flexible - they follow procedures to the letter and fail to treat customers with respect or to apply even a little thought to each case.
Here in the UK it tends to be more of the same, although fortunately some networks do offer excellent support - O2 in particular stands out. In this economy, customer retention is all-important so let's hope that a change in thinking slowly filters through the industry. For anyone who has problems here, you can submit a complaint to Ofcom. Consumers need to fight for their rights.

I'm glad that these guy's
I'm glad that these guy's have been caught and it's great that UCAN is prepared to get to the bottom of these problems. I will never have a contract cell phone again because they are so expensive and you get charged all sorts of hidden costs. I now have a Tracfone and since I made the change I have been saving big every month. I don't have to worry about daily fees or hidden charges and since they are so cheap I can make all my monthly calls for only $12.
