Why do we watch commercials if we already pay for cable?

My Dad cannot enjoy a movie on the couch anymore. Why? Because of the insane amount of commercials he must endure while watching a movie, on a paid movie channel, that is part of a cable bundle package. This isn't Russia? Is it, Danny?

A popular consumer trend has arose, a la the pre-paid phone plan, that enables consumers to bypass large cable bills while still watching their favorite television show for free (as long as your favorite show is not the San Diego Padres, thank you corporate greed).

You can watch all your favorite shows online or by utilizing a simple antenna. I know, I know, what about my favorite show? How will I record it? The quick answer, online. The Internet does not have time slots for TV shows.

Balancing a 50 to 150 dollar cable bill versus the inconvenience of attaching a simple wire from your computer to your television, that, is the question. Whether 'tis nobler of the mind to suffer the strings and arrows of outrageous cable bills or to put those huge cable bills to sleep.

You can read more on this new trend.
