Fraud Squad Helps Praudigy Hearing Clinic Senior Get $3800 Refund

A few days ago, Frank, a 92-year old, long-time UCAN member contacted the Fraud Squad for our help getting a promised $3800 refund for hearing aids he returned five months earlier to Praudigy Hearing Clinics. Praudigy was a contracted vendor that had been doing business out of local CVS Pharmacies.

Frank had asked for, and been promised, the refund several times by Praudigy, which revealed to UCAN that it was having financial difficulties, and could not provide the refund.

UCAN contacted CVS for help and they stepped in right away. The CVS corporate office contacted Praudigy, and Frank had his full $3800 refund a couple of days later.  Not only did CVS help this 92-year old senior, but called UCAN with the promise of sending letters or postcards to all Praudigy customers to accommodate their needs and/or to make them whole.

Thank you CVS for standing up for its consumers.

Buying hearing aids from a hearing aid dispenser

There are so many ways to purchase hearing aids these days, but it's best to look for a licensed hearing aid dispenser in your area to be sure you get the right hearing aid for your type of hearing loss. Most audiologists and hearing aid dispensers offer a money back trial on hearing aids. Plus, if you go to someone in your area, you know where to find them if you run into trouble. Hearing-Aid.com has some very good tips on choosing a hearing specialist.

I appreciate your post. I also wrote that SMS advertising provides a cost effective method of targeting promotions to specific customer profiles. You might want to remind customers of specific events or promotions, but for whatever reasons, SMS allows you to pass information directly to the right customer at very affordable prices and fast delivery.

CVS is the one who was

CVS is the one who was responsible for this. They promised Weston Harris and all the employees at Praudigy that CVS would provide nice office locations, joint advertising and contracts to allow Praudigy to bring in larger growth capital. Weston Harris and Praudigy delivered on everything they promised, while CVS delivered closet rooms instead of nice offices (rooms that couldn't even be locked for HIPPA and FDA regulations), they provided no advertising. At the end of the day, they ruined what was once a very good and reputable company. Their used to be great pride in America's large corporations of creating more millionaires and new companies, now with companies like Walmart and CVS, they have more pride in cheating out small companies and ruining them.

Praudigy hearing aids

I spent $3,000 for hearing aids for my son, and because he couldn't hear any better, in fact worse because of the background noise, he never wore them once. On a school teacher's salary, I feel so guilty that I wasted so much of our family's tight budget. I thought I had no recourse, so I've done nothing. Now at least, I know I'm not alone and I have hope.

hearing aids

Oh! that’s nice, I know that hearing aid is very helpful to everyone especially to children. Because it will give them a life to experience. It is very hard to leave without hearing anything.

It is just terrible when

It is just terrible when such senior people must search for the justice somewhere. How can they block the refund for the 92 years old man? It is anti - human behavior. Thanks, that nowadays there are some good and helpful people such as Ucan community. I think that without you, this poor senior man wouldn't be able to get his money back. Oh and the most miserable thing in this story is, that such a helpful institution as clinic has blocked this refund. It is just disgusting. But thanks God everything turned ok. Thanks one more time for the help to this senior man!

Sincerely,

Milly Carson

Free Lotto

Hi! Last night I've just received a check thru the internet form Free Lotto. It says that I won $300 and $1M! I thought immediately that this is a scam because before confirmation of your winning it asks you how you want your prize to be sent. Through check or credit card? CREDIT CARD? I was very suspisious, so I googled "Freelotto scam?" and I was lead to your website. I'm very thankkful that your organization exists to guide us out of these internet scams. More power and God bless!

Praudigy Hearing Aids

I bought hearing aids from Mr. Harris' son who opened a center in my town. I broke a piece and so I was just going to stop by and see if they could fix it and much to my surprise they were gone. The place that they leased it from said that they left in the middle of the night. Now that is just chicken ____ if you ask me. I contacted the Harris Hearing Center in Utah and it was the dad and he said that he would still fix the hearing aids but would not honor the warranty because he was not the one who sold them to me and that the manufacturer had gone out of business also. He did fix them for me but charged me 100.00 to do it. Then I find out that he is the manufacturer and that he owned the company. If I could get me hands on him I would not be held responible for what I would do. So right not I have 3800.00 hearing aids that are worthless. They need to be adjusted and I need tubes and molds and can not get them. A company here tried to get him to give them the program that is needed to adjust them and work on them and they even offered to buy it and he said no that he did not care. If anyone has any information that would help me to get diffferent hearing aids or if anyone is going to sue these people, please let me know. Thanks

You could contact Weston

You could contact Weston Harris thru sportear.com and he would gladly take care of the problem for you at no charge. His company owned the manufacturing and still does (not his father) and WEston Harris has always stood behind his work and his promises with his employees and others. He simply made a mistake for taking CVS executives at their word. A lesson I'm sure he's learned by now.

Where are you located if I

Where are you located if I may ask?

Praudigy Hearing Crooks

I know exactly how everyone feels. I know a few people who fell for Weston Harris' Scam. He not only took hundreds of thousands of dollars from Customers he also never paid his employees for months of work. He put on a sad face and closed his doors. Now there are so many people out there who are out money and he is happy still selling his Sport ear product and has a contract with Cabellas. He moved his office from Orem Utah and Changed the name to Serta Perfromance. Everyone
BE AWARE DO NOT BUY SPORT EAR OR ANYTHING FROM SERTA PERFORMANCE!!!!

Weston has paid all of his

Weston has paid all of his employees, except a handfull of employees who stole equipment from him.
He was the one left holding the bill from the whole mess with CVS from their unfulfilled promises. He has personally visited most of his vendors to work out arrangements to get them paid in spite of the fact that this was a complete lie from CVS' side of not doing anything they promised Weston Harris.

free hearing test

My mother who is almost 90 got a flyer in the mail offering a free hearing test from California Hearing Aid Center she went in had her free hearing test at a hotel room and was told she needed aids for both ears. She was talked into spending $3000.00 dollars for 2 hearing aids, she only gets a little over $900.00 a month. I stopped payment on the $200.00 check she gave them, but how do I get her out of the contract she signed. I wasn't there so I don't know how they talked her into this since she is really tight with money. Thanks for any help you can give me

hearing aid contract

in a HOTEL room???? are you kidding me? wow.... that is sad and i'm sorry she is going through that, but just don't forget there are great audiologist out there who treat people good and fair!

In California, there has to be a minimum of 30 days of trial period, she just needs to go there (you can go w/ her) and have them put a stop on the deal. Have them write that out on the contract itself that it's canceled & have them sign it too. If they don't, then tell them you will contact the Hearing Aid Dispenser's Bureau!

Good Luck!

Praudigy Hearing Centers

Praudigy was owned and started by Weston Harris in Utah. His company, Harris Hearing recently closed their doors and I hear that they filed bankruptcy. It sounds like CVS has canceled their contract with Mr. Harris. They obviously made a very poor choice when agreeing to do business with Mr. Harris. He has numerous complaints with the Utah Attorney General's office. He was recently on the news in Utah for not giving a refund and made the comment that it "got lost in the shuffle". Sounds like a common excuse by this guy. I have many friends who have been ripped off by this guy. He is a crook. How does he sleep at night. He drives his fancy cars and lives in a nice house and from what I hear he moved all his money offshore to hide it. He also owns Sportear. Beware of buying any products through any of this crooks companies.

Praudigy hearing clinic did NOT return our refund

Praudigy hearing clinic at the CVS Pharmacy in Diamond Bar, Ca. did not return our refund. It's going on 5 months now. Several months ago, they told us its in process. Now, its impossible to get a hold of them and they're not returning our calls. Our salesman (Javier Guzman) tells us he's been fired because we complained so much. We have no one to talk to about this. Im in a wheelchair and my wife is hard of hearing. Praudigy played all nice to us only to rip us off.

The final arrangement between

The final arrangement between CVS and Praudigy was that, in light of CVS' unfulfilled promises to Praudigy, that they would be responsible for any refunds and any repairs needed on all Praudigy hearing aids. Instead, Celeste tries to play herself off as some saving figure. Everyone knew she was at the core of the lies from CVS to Weston Harris and Praudigy.
