Harassing phone calls from 800-684-8429, HSBC Bank, aka Orchard Bank

Have you been receiving debt collection phone calls and messages from 800-684-8429? If so, you are not alone. A UCAN member recently filed a complaint regarding incessant phone calls and messages she had received about someone else's debt from the number 800-684-8429. The calls appear to be made on behalf of HSBC Bank, or Orchard Bank, a banking and credit provider. Under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, debt collectors must honor any request to cease telephone communication and contact you only in writing.

HSBC

I must agree that they do call alot.... I was laid off at one point and couldnt pay my bills. Instead of acting like a grown up and talking to them I avoided the phone calls. Once I put my big girl panties on and actually spoke to them they were very nice and worked with me to get my account caught up. After 5 months of paying on time I called and requested they raise my card limit and they did! I have found that HSBC (my account is with Orchard Bank) is a great credit card company to use if you are trying to build or in my case rebuild my credit. The customer service department was very friendly. And for those of you out there.... we all hate bill collectors, but you should realize that they are working to pay their bills and feed their kids just like we are. In this economy you have to work whatever you can find.... whether you like it or not.

Refuse to pay late fees

they should be illegal! I don't even have a fair chance to pay my bills. I signed a contract and agreed to pay late fees when it was possible to get and keep a job. Now there are no jobs because of the incessant greed of the bankers. They are void of morality or obligation to the human race. Their call center minions are harassing me non stop, when finally I decide to answer customer service rep receives a verbal lashing that could shatter glass. They probably get paid nothing while the bank Executive is dining on a meal that costs more than they make in a month!

I am the Collector you complain about

I work for the bank in question and am in the collections department. Excessive calls are caused from not talking to them. People do not answer the phone or deny who they are and get upset about phone calls. Just talk to them, we are quite delightful, and watch all of your excessive phone call woes end. BTW........ To all thanks for the job, it pays very well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Orchard Bank

No, the calls don't stop when you answer the phone. My most recent payment of $30.00 was due on March 13, 2010. For several reasons I did not get it mailed on time- I mailed it on March 18th and on March 20th (Saturday) I got the first of 17 phone calls from Orchard Bank. After the 4th one (I was busy and unable to answer the 1st calls) I returned their call and explained that I had sent my payment of $30.00 in on March 18th and that they should have it within a day or so. Within less than an hour I got another call from them which I returned and told then I had already spoken with someone and given thatr, to please stop calling. They assured me that there would be no more calls. Well, it is now 7:30 Sunday night and the total stands at 17 phone calls from them and 11 from me to them trying to stop the harrassment. I have been told OVER and OVER "This will take care of it", There will be no more calls" we have taken this out of the dialer" and so on. I finally told them on the 6th or so call NOT to call me again and they assured me they had taken my number out of the system and again, I would be getting no more calls. Guess what? I am still getting and half the time when I have tried to answer the phone just cuts off! I have heard more BS over this then I ever thought possible (and I am a high school teacher-I hear a lot of BS). Never mind the fact it is only 30 dollars and was only 7 days past the due date when the first call came in. I closed the account last year when they kept telling me I owed one amout then the bill showed something different then low and behold, 6 months later they tried to charge me an annual fee. When I called about that they told me they had no record of the card being closed but I finally managed to get the fee taken off and supposedly the account is now closed. What a bunch of crap-these people are vultures!

RE: I am the collector you complain about

I suppose an $8 or $9 an hour job would seem to pay well to an uneducated dolt like yourself. I recently changed phone service and did not port my number (woman problems). Unfortunately, I was given a number of someone who did not pay their bills. I repeatedly told HSBC that I never had an account with them. The intelligent bill collectors continued to call and inconvenience me. My retaliation, I signed this number up for University of Phoenix, Devry, & Kaplan. The most annoying telemarketers on earth. Enjoy the calls phone bitch. I encourage everyone to sign up HSBC to any and all companies who use aggressive marketing. Let the minimum wage losers waste eachothers time!

Loser

I'm sure the 10 cents per hour you make will get you some goats milk. Stay on your own continent where you belong. There is a debt collector waitng for you in the afterlife.

I don't owe anybody anything

I don't owe anybody anything yet I still get calls from this number 8 times a day! So shut your pie hole, you loser who can't get a real job. Try harassing people who actually are deadbeats instead of buying cheap debt for pennies and trying to collect on them by tricking people into giving personal information.

wrong name

Someone has been calling my cell for weeks now trying to reach a different person. When I spoke to the guy today and told him I wasn't this person he called me a liar. He told me the woman had given him the number. Oh really? If she is trying to get out of paying a debt she has every reason to lie about her number. I told him to stop calling me and he promptly called back, FIVE times. He wants to know my name and SS# to prove I am not this person. The burden of proof is not on me - I am not even involved. I'm sorry pp lie to you all the time, but it is not helping things to treat pp who are not at fault so badly and then not give your name and show only the area code on the caller ID. If I do, god forbid, get behind on a bill, treatment like this makes you never want to call back. Don't you want to get to the actual person and get the $!?!

Credit Card

Credit card holder's in America have a number of people's. So this is a big issue of credit card. Many bank's provide this service, some of them are fraud. so carefully before you take any credit card of any bank.

Orchard Bank/HSBC reps

Nice that you sit around calling people stupid and to answer their phones. Maybe they're not home but can see who called. To all collection agency reps ~ get a REAL job. I hope that when you're a little behind in your bills (and you will be one day) that you get people like you calling your home and threatening your children that mommy and daddy are going to be put in jail. Then you'll see how it feels. :) YAY!

BILL COLLECTORS

mY SON IS DYING OF STAGE FOR CANCER, SOME OF OUR CREDITORS ARE UNDERSTANDING AND WORKING WITH US. HSBC REFUSES. I HAVE SENT IN MEDICAL RECORDS SHOWING AND PROVING HIS CONDITION. I HAD ONE COLLECTORS TELL ME I WAS LYING ABOUT MY SON'S CANCER TO GET OUT OF PAYING. HAD ANOTHER EXCUSE ME OF BEING LAZY AND NOT WANTING TO PAY. ???????

about orchad bank

It is a good strategy for the young boys and girls.

safley keeping your crtedit card

you chose to use the card therefor you choose to fine yourself! it clearly states in the credit application that there is a a Annual fee of $39-$129 depending on your credit ...

I paid my bill but the account # was wrong

I paid my bill a week in advance and the account# was entered correctly but they said it wasn't. So I made the payment on the 29th for $150 and as of the first they knew that wasn't a correct account#. I noticed the amount had not been taken out of my bank account a week later, a day after the due date, and logged into my credit card account to check it out. They stated insufficient funds, charged me with a late fee, charged me with a return payment fee along with my interest put me over the limit by $3, so they charged me with an over limit fee. We are looking at $100 of fees. I verified my account again and it went through. But I have to wait 14 days to have access to the funds which were already taken out of my bank 2 days ago. I asked if I could have my bank verify the transaction went through to release the funds to me and the lady on the phone told me there is absolutely nothing I can do. What a liar, she doesn't work in accounting, she is a CSR. I work in accounting and know it is possible to do that. Don't get an Orchard Bank card!!!! It's a scam, she said they don't have to let you know if a payment doesn't go through, they can just report you after 30 days to the credit agencies. They did me a favor by waving the $15 pay on the phone fee. FYI, it wasn't insufficient funds, and when i checked the bank account# it was correct. She said there was a 9 where a 6 should be but that isn't what showed up online.

HSBC c/o Best Buy FEE SCAM OPERATION

I recently opened an account with BestBuy (HSBC) is the vendor handling their credit cards. The purchased was under $300. Payment was made prior to the due date of $114.00. For several days I monitored the bank account for the ACH processing. Logon to the BestBuy site to discover an NSF charge and late fee was accessed to the account. I immendiately contact my finanicial institution who verified the ACH was not presented. Contact HSBC customer service for an explanation. They were abrasive and didn't bother to listen. My bank did a conference call with HSBC presentative advising them you can not charge a customer for NSF fees when the item was never presented. Mauri stated the fees would be waived. This never happend. They asked me to send the payment again because the account number was incorrect (already verified with bank & HSBC previously as correct). Made a second attempt with the full balance of $229.93 only to have the same outcome with more fees. So, a cashier's check was sent via certified mail over a week prior to the next due date and signed for by HSBC employee on 2/20/10. The deny receiving the cashier's check. Faxed over the hard copies of the check, certified receipt and the letter previously sent by the bank. As of today, 3/1/10 the payment has not been posted nor fees removed. This is a scam operation which is affecting my credit score and health trying to resolve an unethical business practice.

i get constance phone calls from this debt collector, when i get home i have 20 or more missed calls i have already made payment arrangments with them to pay my bills which are only a month and a half late i was out of work for a sort period and i am trying to get caught up, but they still call many times a day

HSBC Calls

HSBC just continues to call us constantly, just because we were late one time with our payment, which I usually do online, but could not get into the website to do the payment. They start calling as early as 8:00am and keep it up until 9:00pm. And they also use at least two different numbers to call from, one being 800-395-2274 and the other being 800-684-8429, and they do not leave any messages. I have tried to take my phone number off of the account but it does not let you.

HSBC Calls

I am a lawyer at a firm in Westbury, England, UK.
I am acting for a client in the UK who is claiming harassment against this organisation. The trial is on 26 January 2010. The story seems the same as that experienced by my client.

HSBC Calls

I have their card but don't use it. They use various numbers to call from, not just 800-684-8429. We were a little late paying them, and they called 20 times on Saturday between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm and 20 times yesterday. I am working to try and cancel the card and finish paying it off, but it is crazy that they call so many times. I wish that they did not have to have my phone mumber on the account.

All it takes is for you to pick up once

There customer service is one of the Best out there ! Yes they call alot but if you were to only answer the phone and talk to the reps you would see that they are calling you to help save you from 3rd Party collectors who ask you to sell your children to pay $30 - HSBC handels many accts from Orchard,Household,Best Buy,GM,Union Plus as well as a few others - I currently have 3 cards from them and have always been able to communicate to resolve any issue. all it takes is your willingness to ask for help and see what they can do for you.

CALLLERRRRRR ID PEOPLE>>>!

Oh Boooo hoooo if you did not have caller id you would never know who it was the reason they call 20 times in a day is because you never pickup the phone stupid.. thats not a harrassing call......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Loser

You are pretty smug for only making 10 cents per hour.

I beg to differ with you on

I beg to differ with you on this point. This is the very reason that I got caller ID. I was tired of getting so many calls that would just hang up if my answering machine picked up. I don't owe any debts but a relative does and I get the calls for them and constantly. They will call even when the bills have been paid and are CURRENT. They will call even before the bill has been sent out for the month to "make sure that you pay". They have billed for one amount, been paid the billed amount and then continued to call and harass, saying that they had "made a mistake and more was owed for the month"-this even though the bill plainly showed the amount to be be paid!!! HSBC does harass people and their communication sucks. When calls are made to make payment arrangements, somehow these records manage to "disappear" and the calls continue.

Agreed

If you have made payment arrangements, there is no reason for them to call that much. Unless you live in the dark ages with no answering machine, then a message left should suffice. I do not believe that any collectors are interested in my comfort or well being and certainly don't care about protecting me from 3rd parties. 20 calls a day IS harassment. Nothing else it could be.

Harassing phone calls from 800-684-8429, HSBC Bank, aka Best Buy

They called me 14 times on Sunday from before 8 am to 5 pm
These people are jerks I got a card through Best Buys and they hit me with a $79 fee when I refuse to pay it they hit me with a $39.00 late fee and an a over my credit limited. What are they talking about. HSBC Bank will wait along time before I pay these fees. They told me that I had to pay these fee because so many people went Bankruphty on them. So because I pay my bills on time and so on, they can't wave the
fees. I work 60+ hours a week so why should I be responible
for someone who didn't pay them. I was up to date with all my bills until now. If they come to my understanding I guess they can go to H**l Looks like I'm in same boat that everyone else is in with HSBC.

LD

you must be one of the many illiterates in the USA

its your fault for not reading the fine print and researching the fees applied with the card. you chose to use the card therefor you chose to fine yourself! it clearly states in the credit application that there is a a Annual fee of $39-$129 depending on your credit ...maybe you should read before you react

I do not have a problem in paying the late fee that they charge. It is when that puts me over the limit and they charge me an overlimit fee also. come on! Enough is enough!

This is rather biased and judgmental don't you think? The gripe about the punctuation if "its" was correct and could have been made by anyone who remembers basic punctuation rules of English. Overall, the comment was rendered low-brow and uncalled-for by the final unnecessary word.

Household Bank

I've had their card for 10 years and never late once, until this month (Dec 09). It wasn't but about 2 days late and it's unbelieveable the number of calls I'm getting a day.

I've been receiving an average of 7 up to 10 calls per day. Nearly all calls occur, with a hang up just before it goes to voice mail, then followed up with another call directly after that. Today, I received 6 calls in less than 30 minutes, all but 1 back to back of one another (often within the same minute).

Isn't this in violation of the FDCPA? And if I file a complaint with the FDCPA, what do they do? Anything?

Class Action Lawsuit

I will keep your number and let you know. Thank you! My reasons for considering are two fold.

1. I have a debt I owe HSBC. Actually, it is a co-sign debt. I will never do that again. In any case, the person owing the debt failed to make payments. HSBC started calling my work place and harassing other employees as to my whereabouts, why they were calling etc. They totally and completely violated my privacy. Thankfully, we have recorded conversations. My assistant was so upset about the harassment that she left early one day. They called my phone, pressed zero and harassed her 18 times in one hour. It was crazy.

2. I filed my Federal and State return. I did not file for an RAL (refund anticipation loan), I filed and RAC (refund anticipation check)...which I find out now is pretty much the same thing. One is an expediant loan. The other takes more time. It is my understanding since HSBC is in charge of the RAC, they can take my entire refund. I would think this would be fraud. Its not just their fault, H&R Block should be more upfront about this crap. I think they are in cahoots and getting a kickback from HSBC. Only the Government should be able to keep a tax return...not a bank or lending instituion simply because they are providing you with your federal return via a loan and / or because you owe them money. They are not collection agencies or part of the court system.

If I don't get my full return....soon. I want to start the lawsuit.

they dont help people with bankruptcys

i once had a creditcard with saks before going bankrupt, well after going bankrupt i applied for a orchard bank card and they approved me, and then denied because of an old debt that i owed hsbc, but it had nothing to do with orchard, i know orchard is hsbc, but this card was supposed to help you after bankruptcy, F__ckem, they will need me before i will need them. i did real good paying my bills before i was laid off, someone else will get a great customer

MY FIFTEEN YEAR OLD SISTER

has been getting more than 5 calls a day from the number 800 684 8429.
She politely answered and they asked for a "Ricky" or "Rick" and she said there was nobody here with that name. The line was silent so she hung up. They have called her four times today so far and last time i answered there was nobody there.
This is ridiculous. I cant believe these calls have been happening for nearly three years and they are still calling people.

How to stop the calls.

I had the same problems as all of you did.  I fixed it very easily and without too much hassle from HSBC.  I called them and ask for an account balance.  After they gave me the amount, I told them the card was stolen.  They clsoed the account immediatley.  This was after I attempted to close the account the right way for over a year.  I ask them to not allow an charges, and they would not excpet for their own fees of course.  The REP told me that they could not close the account while it was 2 days late for payment.  The late fee of course was added and sent the account over the limit.  My origianl minimal payment of course went up 300% due to that.  Last month they did it all over again, by adding my yearly membership fee.  Thsi also snet it right back to over limit and etc..

BTW, I am on the civil suit.  I had the card for 3 years total during which I made purchases of approx 5,092.48.  I made payments during that smae time of approx 7487.95.  This was not intrest, it was 98% fines, fees, and services.

I HATE ORCHARD BANK CARD

I 100% HATE ORCHARD BANK CREDIT CARD. I APPLIED FOR A CREDIT CARD WITH THEM AND WAS APPROVED, AFTER MAKING ONE SMALL PURCHASE MY CARD WAS BLOCKED AND I WAS TOLD I NEED TO COPY MY SOCIAL SECURITY CARD, MY LISENCE AND TWO UTILITY BILLS AND SEND IT TO THEM. I REFUSED AND WAS TOLD UNTIL I DO MY CARD WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO USE, BUT THEY WOULDNT CHARGE ME FOR ANYTHING EITHER. AT THAT TIME THERE WAS ONLY A 100.00 BALENCE ON THE CARD. MONTHS PASSED BY AND NO CALLS FROM THEM NO LETTERS NOTHING, UNTIL SEPTEMBER THEY CALLED ME LIKE CRAZY, THEN ONE DAY ONE OF THEM GOT MY GRANDMOTHERS NUMBER AND CALLED HER. THEY TOLD HER SHE WAS THE ONE WHO HAD THE CARD, SINCE MY GRANDMOTHER HAS A MENTAL ISSUE SHE WAS CONVINCED EASILY, THEY ALSO TOLD HER THE AMOUNT WENT UP FROM 100.00 TO 300.00 PLUS OTHER FEES. SHE WAS SO WORRIED THAT SHE TOLD HER SISTER AND HER TWO SONS, ONCE THEY HEARD THIS THEY CALLED ORCHARD AND ASKED WHAT ADDRESS DID THE CARD START FOM THEY TOLD HER MY ADDRESS, SO NOW MY FAMILY THINKS IM A CRIMINAL AND HAS DONE SOMETHING WRONG, THEYRE EVEN TRYING TO PUT ME IN JAIL, FOR A MISSUNDERSTANDING. LUCKILY THE CARD IS IN COLLECTIONS AND THEY WERE ABLE TO TAKE THE AMOUNT DOWN TO 110.00 PLUS A 4.95 PROCESSING FEE. BUT I STILL DONT KNOW HOW TO MAKE MY FAMILY TRUST ME AGAIN, THANKS ALOT ORCHARD.

Class action

Iam motivated to start a class action suit Please contact me Dottwell@hotmail.com I have had to many years of torment from this Company

$19.00 Late fee because my check was torn upon receipt

This one should reach the TV News. Sent two checks to HSBC for payment and it seem that they just ripped them in half, sent them back and said "WE CANNOT ACCEPT YOUR PAYMENT BECAUSE IT WAS TORN" so instead, they send me a late payment bill. This had to be done by them because I know that the mail man does not deliver torn mail. If anything "RETURN TO SENDER"THANK GOD i DON'T OWE THEM MUCH, SENDING A CERITFIED FINAL PAYMENT OVERNIGHT and closed the account too!

Best credit card deals

This worked for me.

I kept getting calls from this number as well, it was for another person though. I told them several times that they had the wrong number. So here was my solution and it has worked for 4 days now with no calls. I got my digital recorder out and when i answered the phone, i told them that the call was being recorded for quality assurance. I then asked them who they were trying to reach and what number did they have on record. They answered with the person's name and confirmed the phone number. I then told them that this was the correct number but the person that they were looking for hasn't had the number for 2 years. I wished them well and haven't heard from them for 4 days. I was getting calls from them everyday. If they call back i will do the same thing, and then the 3rd time i will take them to court with my proof.

The funny thing about this is that I do have a card with them and it's always current. My initial reaction was to cancel the card, but I don't know if I could do that from what I've read on here. I live in texas and as long as i let the person on the other side of the phone know that the call is being recorded, i can use it later. OH and by the way, the person was very friendly also.

A little different, same problems!

I never ever applied or ask for this Orchard card! It just showed up here asking that I activate it and oh Yea they gave me a $400.00 limit. I did not want it, and like many had been hit with devastation. We played by all the American Dream rules for over a 43 year marriage, (until the medical cancer bills and probably losing our home Drove my husband to totally give up and just die apologising to me for leaving me in such a mess.) Some people and companies are totally 'Heartless'
I have to forgive the rudeness of some of these posters when they say 'stop whining and pay' Not 7 years ago we had a triple A credit rating, but no longer!
My daughter (who claims to be mentally sick) She is 'NOT' only lazy won't work, lives off state aide, and stole from me and her father when he was still alive.
To shorten this, I never activated that card so thought I had zero worries. I did get mail from them (Orchard) but assumed they were only trying to get me to take this $400.00 limit credit card. Then I find out my 'Adult' daughter had activated it and had the nerve to ask me to get a higher limit. (She had the card)
I immediately called and explained to them. They had stopped activity on it because I had never activated it, or used it. (I can't even get started on HSBC and the extreme stress they are causing me)
Now I find out I owe over $69.00 for yearly use. Yes I quickly paid off her charges, torn up the card (I had thrown it away, but she found it in the trash and had been using it.
They seemed to understand and gave me credit for one half yearly charges. I told them to cancel that card as it is cut to pieces!
Within 2 days I had another card (same number) ?? This is the 4th credit card I have had to change and my check and debit card, as my daughter was finding the numbers, on receipts and charging things.
My bank President actually encouraged me to press charges against my daughter. That is another story, though.
Now I think because I have torn this card up and never 'Ever' used it I was fine! Not so as I get a call telling me I need to pay my Orchard card and privilege's had been suspended.
What could I owe, it was torn up and had not been used? Well they did not cancel it and now another year and the yearly dues was over even the charge limit. I shall never understand? They knew it had never been used and all these charges was because they said I had it!!
Again when I refused to pay for anything except the yearly fee, they accepted that, and sent another card still with only a $400.00. limit.
I am numerous e-mails to them (for proof) telling them to cancel the card. Oh the sob stories I got? I need you to keep this card. Orchard does not keep employees' where costumers cancel cards.
This was now year 3 years where I had never used the torn up card I did not want. My last contact with them was 'Cancel the Damn Card' I will never pay them another penny for a card I don't want has fanatical hurt me and I don't have.
Another year passes and again I get a bill for the $59.00 yearly fee. I was getting at least 10 calls a day wanting that fee and of course by now its up to over $600.00.
Never used, wanted and cancelled many times, and my fee's are now over $1000.00! How can things such as this be allowed?
I explained to them I have 'drafts' of cancellation of well over a year ago. (they say they have the same of me saying I wanted to keep the card?)
On their bills there is not one single purchase only their fees and interests, which one would think, I never wanted that card ever.
I have actually talked to some nice collectors from Orchard that can plainly see I have never made a purchase of any kind with that card and one even agreed she would refuse 'also' of paying interests and fees to a company I had never used their card.
But there is no reasoning with them and they call many times a day!

Little different same problem

Hi hon,
Dont know if you get this or not but if you do, do what I DID...bought a AIR HORN at Walmarts. Its canned air that you use to warn other boats in harbor, etc...very cheap yet PRICELESS. They called me, told them NOT THE RIGHT PERSON, etc. They got insulted, made threats to my credit, etc. I hung up, they would call three four times a day, told them its ILLEGAL, one call a day if answered, two if Voice Mail gets call. Finally I saw the canned air horn, bought it. When that number came up, I picked up reciever, HIT THE BUTTON and listen to phone, heard cussing and screaming at me. Hung up, they called again. PRESSED button again. Hung up ...No calls again but next morning...eight am sharp, phone rang, it was new rep. Told them wasnt me and if called again, they would deal with IT...hung up, she called right back....BLUE HORN....no calls since then from them and its been two yrs!!!!!!
GO BUY THAT DANG HORN and when a butt calls you like that, BLOW YOUR HORN>
PS>>>Its LOUD@@@@!!!! OMG so be prepared, stick cotton in ear, or turn off hearing aid if wearing one. Had another comp. do this to me,calling...informed wrong person, they called second time..>BLEW HORN....next time..>BLEW HORN....no more calls...its been months. And I have EXCELLENT CREDIT so these calls are harrassment...and wrong and in error.; I think they have learned NOT TO CALL MY NUMBER...GOOD LUCK HONEY.

hsbc is orchard/household. advice for you delinquent folks..

Everyone is so negative. I have been working as a collector for the past four years, and can't take another second of it. Every day I goto work I feel like I'm losing a part of myself. I can't wait to be out of school and never look back.

If you get a credit card, know there are going to be fees, know you must pay back the money you borrowed, and most importantly ....
we are people on the other end of the line-and most of us just want to help you. You wouldn't believe how much I have been abused verbally and
the intentions of both banks I've ever worked for...were to help people. We want you to pay what you've borrowed. Big thing there,
you lend some money and see if you get it paid back.
HSBC is a global bank and has a very miniscule number of offices in America, so stop the belligerent and asinine comments about Asia, the bank was started overseas.

If you want the calls stopped from anyone, ask for a cease and desist but before you do, if you can't pay your bill ask for a hardship program and if you've maxed out your fee waives,
ask for a settlement

Never pay a debt settlement company-these are awful scams

if you need consumer credit counseling call 8003882227 there are good organizations out there.

be nice to the collector you talk to next, they may hate themselves a little more everyday and because your late on YOUR bill, telling them what a piece of shit THEY are..
bad karma folks. seriously.

oh really!

I would sooner be a hooker than a supposed customer service rep. A hooker has more integrity than you do. They would replace you with a machine if it was cheaper!!!!

HOW DARE YOU

You have got a nerve, if you would read these comments that everyone is complaining about you would see it is not about the money borrowed, its about the late fee's, the reasons for the late fee's. They give you a due date but when you go to pay on the due date you find out that you now have to pay a rush fee. If you think you have paid it on time. just wait you did not. Here come the late fee's over the limit fee's and what about the returned fee's when they say your bank account is not real. Only at orchard bank. My bank account has been open for 20yrs. So save your comments on Karma trust me son..... She is coming your way.... BIG TIME...

HSBC

You must realize by now that where there is smoke there is fire, so many people speaking against the rotten practices of this lending institution. when my income was lessened the last part of 2008 I turned a number of credit cards over to a debt settlement company including HSBC, but they didn't want to go along with the program and in February threatened me with legal action and the debt settlement company told them to cease and desist because the account was in their hands. a few days ago my bank account was garnished and I was informed a few days later by the collection attorney to file a writ of exemptions for my veterans benefits, social security and any thing else I felt to be exempt. Taking a second look at the the material sent from my bank I found the form as well as finding that I had gone past the five day deadline to file. Tell me why I should have to file when it clearly states those items mentioned are exempt from garnishment. And as to the argument that it was mingled with other monies deposited, the only other amount deposited was $69.00 from a few days as a school crossing guard job for the city. Proof positive of this is that at the close of last month my account was over drawn so there was no other money entered in the mix. I join in the chorus of the unhappy campers lamenting their experiences with HSBC as now due to other creditors electronic withdrawals my account is horribly in the red and in addition, a $22.50 courtesy tacked on to each entry. Oh yes, I am extremely, vehemently irate with my eye daggers directed at not only HSBC but the rude, nasty attorneys that represent them and am now in search of an attorney to take my case to bring legal recourse against both entities for as much as I can squeeze out of them. One more thing, the original amount owed when they were told to cease and desist was less than half of what is now owing. How can you possibly side with such a bunch of crooks? Even a banker, a colleague expressed to me that to be his opinion of HSBC. Have a blessed day.

Mel Franklin

Respect goes a long way..

maybe you should find a new job if you hate your life so much that you need to come here and rant about how mean everyone is because others in your industry harass them constantly...The Ethic of Reciprocity- "treat others as you wish to be treated" It makes it hard for people to remain respectful when these companies display such utter disrespect and bad business practices. Keep that in mind.

HBSC Bank does bad business

Is there any place we can make a complaint about all the harrassment that HBSC does?

Go here

You could file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau
http://www.bbb.org/

Also Rip-Off report http://www.ripoffreport.com/

ranting and raving

This is what this website is for. If you don't like reading the posts. Don't read them. What do you have nothing better to do with your time than complain about the people talking to each other about their problems? Sounds to me like you need a swift kick in the a$$.

The information provided is helpful only if you can get the people to tell you the mailing address of the people harrassing and calling. The people calling from this number are not using thier real names, when I call the number back no one can find these poeple who are making the phone calls. I have told these people ten days in a row to quit calling this number., these people have also called my room mates number in a different state during the weekend trying to locate the debtor whom has never given that perosns name, number and acutally theY are calling a business number that has in no way connection with me, but my roommates business number because the cell phone company recently sold the addresses of poeple and this mans address is close to mine he is 845 and I am 845 1/2 so they are calling basically my nieghbor, my boss and the stupid payment isn't even owed. They refuse to give up their names and addresses and business address they represent and when I quote they have to tell me thier business name and address they represent they are telling me they don't ahve to give up any informaiton about who they are, who they work for or thier business address..please pay more taxes this week to the united states governemnt so these businesses and corporations can rape us blind to and take and do what they want. Please support socialism so we can make sure corporate amerca can get money and keep these kinds of collection tactics the back bone of America! I love being a fricken citizen of the US where the govenrment can take and take and do nothing to help us and give up our tax money paid to them to support these types of business tactics.

somethings really phishey here....

my parents got a call last night and so far it's been the same as what everyone else has said where they call and tell you that there's a seopena going out for you. i told my dad to not give out any personal info, let this "Todd Shaw" character go through what all he had "on file" most of it was wrong, but those that were actually right anyone even a kinder garner could get off the internet about someone. which ain't too much really. anyhow he told "Todd" that he was going to have the $200 (just like everyone else has stated) sent to him and i was handed the phone to get the info on where to send it... here's the funny part he stated to have the money sent to a Wells Fargo account personal account.... now if he was a real collector from HSBC/Orchid wouldn't the money be sent to them instead of a Wells Fargo personal account? anyways I have his account number he shared with me. now about this guy "Todd Shaw" his ext. # is 168 on that 866-629-8004 he claimed first to be with A.C.S. then changed it to First Capitol rm (lcc) then changed it again to First Capitol Group (does this guy even know who he works for?) he's expecting me to have that $200 sent by 10am today, but he's not getting a cent of it, thanks to all that have commented about this harrasment but i don't believe it has anything to do with HSBC or Orchid unfortunately... he's a third party who they probably sold info to. the First Capitol Group is investors group by the way, not a collection agency here in Texas, lol

I'm not standing up for HSBC/Orchid's behalf, those i have deep hatred for anyways because they apparently support terrorism and I'll be damned if I'm gonna supply them the funds to to buy the weapons for the terrorists to use on our troops. but this group of conspirators is not directly tied into them as far as i know at the moment.

I'm off to the store to buy a turkey now, God bless America and have a great day.

Lawsuit HSBC Orchard Bank Are The Worst Bank

I just received a letter and a civil service lawsuit from HSBC Bank.
I have an attorney working on this and this was going to be settled soon.
Well HSBC didn't want to wait they turned around and sued.
Well this company is the worst to work with.
Hang Ups constant calls now in collections.
They seem like they like to play hard ball.
Meanwhile they are falling apart to there death.
This bacnk Orchard is a flop. They are losing all of the locations they own.
This and others are falling to their demise.
Good ridence.
I now have to face those basterds in court.
I don't pown anything and I lost my job what can they possibly think they can get out of me???????
Like millions across this country Cresit Cards must go by the waste side.
I would never ever get another Crit card again.
The reason I am in this in the first place is because of my job at the time.
The compnay wanted me to pay for everything on this card.
Then after they let me go (Layoff) They would not pay anything back.
I was left with this debt.
I could not afford.
Now I have to go to court and fight them.
Good Luck to all of you out there in the same mess.

I closed that account with them 10 years ago aka Orchard Bank

Orchard Bank is sueing me also, I closed that acct 10 years ago. They are saying that I owe them1484 . They call me and say I will be served in 20 days. They say I have to show up with my attorney . I never got anything from them in writing at all. Yes they are hard balling us all.

Statue of Limitations

Statute of Limitations on Written Contracts and Promissory Notes for all states.
Every state has laws governing the time in which a creditor can file suit to collect a debt. Generally, a creditor or debt collector gives up his right to file suit to collect a debt after a period of six years from the time the debt was written off (or the date of last activity on your credit report), but various states allow anywhere from 2 to 15 years to collect delinquent debt. Here are some of the various states statutes of limitation, however, you should confirm the type of debt you have and the applicable statute....

Who is a fraid of the BIG BAD WOLF

What goes around comes around. Never pay a voice on the phone. Mail me something in writing. What says you can't call them 23 times a day, ask them how is the weather is in thier state or town. Tell them you just had nothing to do today and you thought you would let them know that you would sure like to pay them and you will when you can. Call them and tell them Just wanted to let you know I havent gotten any any money yet. Try this one I called to let you know that a wolf came to my door yesterday and had puppies, so as soon as I can sell the pups I will be sending you some money. If all of us would just call them 23 times a day, they would not be able to use their phones to call us. Think about It.

STOP THE MADNESS

When you receive a call from a debt collector or collection agency, kindly ask the representative for their mailing address, as well as their fax number. Make sure you are polite or they might not give you the info, if the representative becomes rude or unresponsive, ask for a supervisor.
Step2
Never admit to owing the debt. You don't know who is on the other end of the phone, and you would never want admit to anything as they record these calls. I advise you send a validation letter to each collection company, for more info on that contact me and I will send you a sample letter.
Step3
Fax a copy of the letter below, and send the letter via certified mail.

Cease communication

Any future phone calls I receive at my home or at my work will be reported to the Federal Trade Commission as a violation of my rights according to 15 U.SC. 1692c.

Enjoy the fact that you will not be harassed day and night from these ruthless collection agencies.

address,

When they give an address, make sure it is NOT a P. O. Box. Ask them for the street address. If they wish to know why explain that a registered letter of UPS and FEDEX will not deliver to P. O. Boxes. You may only answer to a legal street address.

If they refuse to give you a street address, politely explain that legally you don't have to answer them if they don't. While most States do not allow PO Boxes for legal mail, your State may be different, but I don't know of any that do allow it. If you send a cease and desist letter, spend the extra few bucks and send it certified.

It is too easy to not get mail delivered to a PO Box.

You can't just ask for their

You can't just ask for their mailing address. Banks and Crediting companies have more than one address depending on what department you have to send something to...you have to have them for the address that you have to send out a Cease and Desist letter to...it's more than likely not the same mailing address you'd send the bill, therefore, they wouldn't get it correctly.

Does the cease call clause discussed include other countries

I've had several calls from hsbc reguarding a local tech credit card I had. I have no problem admitting I was late on payment, but they are harrassing me over $40. They called me thursday, saturday morning and evening, sunday, monday and wednesday morning and afternoon. I've repeatedly asked them to wait for payment and that it was made, that they need to stop, I've even tried to be logical and ask why would you call on weekend or 9am monday?!? you're not gonna see it until later? It continues and I'm afraid If I were to call the police or operator they would just say pay your depts. Are they not harrassing me, or can this be considered "business as usual"? -- cause frankly even though my balance is $0.00 I'm considering getting rid of these morons!

I'm in canada btw, so I'm not sure if the law pertains to my region or if I have legal recourse if they call tomorrow or next.
Can someone advise?
Geo

I've been getting calls

I've been getting calls about a credit card merchant account and the first two times I told the person on the other end of the line, politely, that I'm not interested. The third time I lost it and I spoke like a lady should never speak. I got a forth call, asked for the supervisor, got someone else and they couldn't understand that I don't care what they're selling. I think the callers knew how to say their lines and didn't speak the same language as me.

1-866-629-8004 This Number called my sons home and ask him if he knew me and he told them yes that I was his mother and they ask him if anyone was there over the age of 18 to sign for a summons for me he ask what it was about and they would not say .. So he called me up and told me what they had done and it really shocked me and I called that number back they said they was from HSBC and I ask them what was going on why they told my son that they was sending a summons to me .... they told me that they was no summons sent out yet and I told them that I had never had an account with a HSBC they ask for my full name and I gave it to them and they repeated a ss# and ask if it was mine ... It was not and they had the wrong address I ask them why did they call my son and do me like that the lady was a foreigner that I was talking to and she said she was sorry she had the wrong person .. I ask her why didnt she make sure that she had the right person before she told my son that she was sending a summons out to me ...She told me that they was just trying to collect and account that they told everybody they called that so they would call them back that they do not send summons out and really do people like that ... I had been getting some prank phone calls and had my phone hooked to a recorder I got every thing she said and contacted and attorney and took it to him he said that they had made a big mistake doing me like that and I had a good case against them ... I was wondering If they have done anybody else like that ? That is very rude for them to do someone like that and I am filing a case against them they should have knew better than to do that ....

Call from 866-629-8004

Yeah, I received a phone call telling me the same thing and that they were looking for my brother. They said they were from the Sherrifs department and they even gave me a case #. They also said that if someone was able to sign for a summons. I then decided to google the phone number and brought me to this site. Thanks for the information.

Call from 866-629-8004

Tell them to call back in 5 minutes and set your line to foreward calls to the sherifs dept

same here

How interesting that I found this site. Just today I received a similar call from a private number. This Private Number had been calling for about a week but I don't answer private numbers. My daughter answered today and was told that someone had come by our house last week to serve me papers but no one answered. He said he would try one more time to serve them and if I didn't answer something would happen. She couldn't understand what he said.

He told her that I had to be home between 7 and 9 and if I wouldn't be then I had to call them to let them know. I spent all day wondering what on earth this could be about but I never called back. I put the number he gave into Google and found this site.

All this for an old Orchard account? Is there really a summons or is it just a scam to verify addresses?

Called about a summons being sent out to me!

Today I received a call from an unavailable number. The person on the line called my home telephone number and spoke with my daughter asking about me and told her that they had paper work to give me regarding court. She gave them my cell and advised them that I was out of town.
The person, who never did tell me his name and who he represented, advised me that he had a summons to deliver to me through the Palm Beach County Sheriff Department to appear in court. Of course when a person hears this immediate fear comes over them! Upon asking why I was to appear in court, no answer was ever given only a file number and this 1-800-629-8004! I called the number and guess what...the same guy who had jsut called me answered the line. he then transferred me to another guy who first asked me if I was an attorney and then proceeded to tell me that he represented a Mastercard account that I had 1 year ago with a balance of $3600 in lawyer and court costs...the card in question was Orchard Bank! I have never gotten any correspondances from the bank and I lost my job and can not even pay them a dime! Well he then advised me that they are not in collections but that Mastercard is sueing me! Whatever...if they want to sue Social Services they can...that's the only source of income I am receiving during this crazy recession!
My question is does Orchard Bank even Know that these crooks are doing this? They knew where my last job was and the job before that.. And not to mention the jerk hung up on me!!

called me too

They called me to but the man said my husbands exwifes name...not mine. I told him she has never lived at this address and we've been married 10 yrs. He wanted to know if I would be home Monday between 9-4 that the sheriff would be making 2 attempts to serve papers ..and I said well for one I'm not her and for another thing this is a big city and I doubt very seriously the sheriff would be out serving papers. I told him for all I knew he could be planning to rob my house Monday between 9-4 and I wasn't going to be stupid enough to tell him one way or another if I'd be home. I think this person is probably a skip tracer and hes fishing for information about a debt the ex-wife owes.
Email me at melinda_cook68 at hotmail dot com I will confirm with your attny he has called me to. I am reporting it to the Texas Attorneys office.

Activities like this are a

Activities like this are a waste of time because those people who do that just disturb us. Frank callers are annoying and sometimes they are terrible like what had happened to our economic stability today. According to news, the U.S. debt has been increasing every passing year, since massive amounts of debt piled up in the 70s and 80s. Few administrations have taken a serious crack at it, although they'll waste time trying to legislate payday loans. It is shaping up to be one of the most challenging problems that will be facing future generations of Americans. It surprises few that the people that incur this debt upon us are among the most wealthy, and those that have to pay for it are the ones that have to get a payday loan to get by.

If they don't ID themselves

If they don't ID themselves they can call up to 6 times a day from 8am-9pm. If they call and it is a wrong number chances are the person can have more than one account or they aren't removing your number, and if you don't correctly ID the number they call, they will not take it out since it obviously wasn't the number they called. Always verify your number and give them the actual number they called. Also, just because you've had that number for 2 years does not mean someone didn't have it before you, some accounts can be 10 or more years old...and if you don't want them calling your work number, never give it as a contact number, obviously they got the number from you, you can't really be THAT mad that they are calling it. They sell your information to 3rd parties, whether it be for insurance, other credit cards, auto loans, or even just options for the card...always make sure you check the box that says do not allow them to give your information or leave the box unchecked if it says that you allow them to give other information to partner companies. If they call more than 6 times a day it could be for more than one account, most places do not cold call, they are set up on a dialer system, which means the representatives have no choice in who they call. Once they send your information to a 3rd party collector/attorney, they no longer are in control of your account, you have to call their probate/recovery department to set up any type of payment arrangements. When you get behind and cannot make the minimum due, call the company, most have programs available that will lower the interest and payments on the account for a set amount of months in order to allow you to get caught up, though some require closing of the account or even post dated checks, except in MA, where it is illegal. When you work with a Consumer Credit Counseling Agency you can still receive calls from the bank/company until the proposal from the Counseling Agency is accepted, because they are not legally responsible for your debt and until an agreement is reached the bank/company cannot discuss with a 3rd party; with the exception of an attorney. If the calls are too much and you do not want them calling then LEGALLY you have to send in a certified letter of Cease & Desist, they have to stop calling, but verbal request for cease and desist only work in certain states-OH and Montana...I think.

giving numbers

I disagree with you on you had to give a contact number, I was just informed this morning that I did not give the number they called me on but they had their ways of getting numbers. I think that should be illegal but apparently its not. They even called an aqaintence of mine and I know I did not give that number out. I will be seeking legal info on this matter. So be aware before saying things like you had to give out that info because you probably did not.

HSBC Home Mortgage

I have filed for bankruptcy Chapter 7, awaiting discharge. At my hearing I was told creditors should stop calling as mandated by Federal Law. HSBC is calling several times a day, seven days a week and after 9pm. I reported them to the Federal trade commission, contacted my lawer and am seeking legal action, my lawyer is pissed and willing to pursue action. I recorded the dates, times and conversation topics/threats. HSBC has been told numerous times I filed, have been given a BR file number several times to include my lawyers number and name. Yet they continue to call from India asking me for money. This company is languishing for a lawsuit. Anyone else in this boat?

Class Action Law Suit

Has your attorney thought of this. I want my name added I just missed my first payment after they moved the due date and they have called me 23 times just today! Thanks.

Orchard Bank Credit card scam

Orchard Bank Credit Card Correspondence
1441 Schilling Place
Salinas, CA 93912
Dear Orchard Bank
Dear Orchard;
You are a pain in the arss. Just no other way to explain your existence in my life.
I applied for your "card" and requested a $2,000 limit. I have several cards but was advised to get another "to better build my credit with more payments recorded" so I applied to Orchard. I received the card....300 dollar credit limit---big deal I spend that much for an evening at my favorite Bistro. Ok, so we'll just use this once in awhile and get the payment record established. We'll make some "scheduled" payments so we can stretch out the record. We'll make a $15.00 payment and then charge some more when we reduce the balance. BINGO, two days late because of the hurricane evacuation and two amazing things happen that I really should have expected from your scam-infested organization as it is a foreign corrupt infested anus of the Asian financial world.
1. My payment "arrived late" ( two days) and so I was charged a "late fee"
2. The "late fee was more than twice the payment. This was almost funny except that by this time I knew that in your next move to improve my credit, you would report this to TRW, Experian, my aunt, Uncle, all my kids and Jiffy Lube.
You did as expected. Within a nano-second of a heartbeat, there it was "LATE PAYMENT 30" indicated in all its glory on the consumer credit report.
Thank you so much Orchard, we will now do what we can to make sure that others do not fall into your credit-improving scam---especially on the net.
So, being retired and nothing to do but alert my fellow citizens that wish to improve their credit ratings, we shall relate this experience with your shameless organization on the net. Now, you may not be aware just how strong the net is. If one were to BUY the time and material to contact a million viewers on the net looking for card applications, it would cost a pretty penny. (Look at what your net presence cost figures are.) BUT if I want to get the word out with very little effort to those same million viewers, all I have to do is put this story on about 350 blogs discussing credit, on another 50 or so blogs talking about spam organizations and buyer-beware scams by companies such as Orchard and all its affiliates, and a few web sites that we know will be visited by robots and sent on to another million sites for reading in Google, Jinks, and yahoo.
This will be my way of saying "Thanks so much Orchard for your stupidity in action." We'll be playing on your local blog soon--watch for us!!!

I started receiving calls from these numbers on my cell phone 5 days ago. Didn't answer, but finally called it back to see who it was. The message I get says that "we have identified your account number ending in **** based on the number you are calling from. If this is not your account number, please enter your FULL ACCOUNT NUMBER". First, my cell phone is private, does not show up on caller ID. Second, I have never had a credit card-of any kind. I only realized what company it was by Googling the number. This seems to be a phishing scam. Not that I would, but I couldn't enter my full account number because I don't have one. Any suggestions?

This is my exact issue as

This is my exact issue as well. I have never taken out a line of credit by card or account. I've never heard of the bank it is for or HSBC.....I have actually been getting calls from the same people on a different number, until this morning when this number called me. If I answer, its usually a computer but once in awhile I get a very surprised person who seems shocked another human is on the line, and they instantly hang up....what is up with that? When you call back they simply say something like "credit relations" without describing WHOSE credit they are talking about (hinting to a phishing scam) and they ask for the full account number. I don't owe anything, so I am pretty sure this is a scam.

hsbc

Hi, I have been getting harrassing phone calls from them for a long time as to having an acct with them. I had hurt my back at work and was out of work for 3 years. You know you try to make a payment and then they add on late fees. If you were to give then a lump sum of say $100 and then make some more for next month they still keep adding the interest. Give us a break. Well this one pushed it. I got a phone call from my brother who lives outside of Chicago and I am in Boston and he said that he got a phone call from them inquiring about my name and that I had his phone number on the application. I definitely would not have put my brothers phone number on the application. WRONG! They will try to find any member of your family.

HSBC dept owed but unable to pay

Hello, Like the gentleman above, we have been through the same thing. I have a side lone with this company it was actually with another company that sold it to two other company and hsbc now has this loan. from the begging, we had never been late and we were always on time but in the course of 6 years, iv been sick and lost jobs, my husband been layed off and now we can't pay because i am facing a major surgery and we told them that at this time we are only able to pay our mortgage and make sure my kids have lights and food. One representative told me; then you need to sell you house in the next 30 days or a car to pay off this debt this is your problem. I hung up to keep from going off. I then contacted the same number and asked to speak with a supervisor and he told me that if we didn't get at least a $2000 payment in in the next 30 days it would charge off and and then it would be out of there hands. i told them i understood but at the time i just got out the hospital and have a 53000 bill also and he told me will you can send them the $5 to $20 dollars a month but that wont work for us and that our interest rate is going up everyday so far its at a 283% If this is not harassment what is and with the economy the way it is you don't tell someone to sell your house and move into an apt. its cheaper to Owen the house. If anyone has any suggestions on what or how i should handle this problem i would really appreciate it. thank you

My Husband had died Nov.13

My Husband had died Nov.13 not even a month and a day later their calling me about an old bill I paid off CAN'T THEY EVEN GIVE ME TIME TO GRIEVE they are very sick people I guess I will have to start letting machine get the phone

Orchard Bank is not good people besides, they are Asian

Sweetheart;
These people are corrupt infested Asians. they have no respect for you, America or your late husband ( may he RIP) this organization is less than human and less honorable than Barney Frank--if that is possible. these Asians are the anus of the financial world and should never be allowed to do business in the american financial sector.

Let's keep the *Asians* out of it, shall we?

It doesn't matter where these people are from ... they have horrible customer service. I have dealt with US credit agencies and had far worse treatment. I've been screamed at, called a liar, cursed at and call stupid ... all by American, English-speaking, US citizens. By singling out the country these call centers are in, you only make Americans look petty, prejudice and ignorant.

Let's just stick to the subject and keep personal feelings out of it so that people coming to this site will read the offenses and not think it's just a site to rant racial slurs.

The facts, only the facts, should be reported here. Facts are: 1. how often they call, 2. how they treat you during the call, 3. what tricks they may use to get info from you, 4. whether or not you have filed any kind of complaint with a legitimate organization and if it did any good, 5. anything else pertinent to the phone calls (and race, country of call center and the like are not pertinent).

There are other places you can rant about jobs being taken over-seas (I'd like to see them come back and hopefully under the new administration this will happen soon) and how much you hate one race over another ... but this isn't the place.

Continous Phone Calls

I have had many calls come up on my caller ID from 1-800-684-8429. These calls start as early as 8:00 AM and go until almost 9:00 PM. This morning I had two calls before 8:30 AM within 10 minutes of each other.
I was not sure who was calling me, I am current on all of my bills and have an excellent credit report.
I finally found this website that identify's this phone number as HSBC/Orchard bank.
I do have an account with them and it is current and has never been late. The only thing I could think of is they are calling to harrass me for some type of insurance and solicitation.
I guess that dont feel that someone might want to sleep in a little on a saturday morning only to have the phone ringing off the hook all day.
At times I just pick up the receiver and hang up on them. I will contact them by letter to have them stop the phone calls if not I will close my account with them.

Vigilante Justice

I'm tired of these fools incessently calling about someone else's "personal business". They refuse to stop calling after being repeatedly told the person is not at this address or phone number which we've had for 5 years. I now keep a referee's whistle next to the phone and blast them before hanging up.

HAHA

Good luck closing your account that won't stop them you close your account the just tack on more charges it never stops

HAHAHA WOW!!!

So I had commented on this forum earlier about getting these calls and finally answering them to find out they were looking for someone else. Welp........THEY DID IT AGAIN!!!!! They had just called me again for the 10th time today, and I finally answered it. Again they were looking for some "Larry" guy! To make it a little funnier, the lady on the phone sounded like she could be my Grandma. These guys are hilarious!

It's paid, but another Collection Attorny after me!

I had a legitimate account with HSBC Orchard Bank a few years ago. I had quit making payments due to loss of a job, and of course the late fees piled up until it went to collections. Big deal, shit happens. Made some payments for awhile, then couldn't again. Two years later, just weeks before i was going to contact them to get my overdue past bills squared away, they contact me again. But it wasn't them, it was some collection attorneys, but they were assholes too. Wouldn't accept what i could pay them and when, so my wages got garnished, got into trouble at work for this, and was unable to make my mortgage payment for 2 months. It was paid off February 2008. Contact and letter saying no balance was owing was received in April 2008. Now a new collections attorney is calling regarding this debt to HSBC. I was surprised, and pissed!!! Luckily I had started a Paid Bills folder to prove that i was cleaning up my Credit History. Will be faxing this to them tomorrow for proof, and will be expecting proof back from them. I even called the previous collections company to make sure that they still show me as paid, they do, but they were a little snotty with me that i would doubt them. Ha! I will also be contacting HSBC directly to make sure that their files are up to date. I hope this will take care of the problem, or i will have to take further action. I can get a cheap lawyer if i have to. Isn't this slander of character, or at least harassment?!

i am also being hassed by hsbc-orchard for credit card

dear whoever this is, i just wanted you to know that i am also being hassed by hsbc.i paid off the balance in april 2007. since than they have turned me into two other collection agencies. i am now writing to the state attorney general office to notify them of this problem, from there i am getting an attorney to try and sue them. i just wanted to share this information with you in case you also want to sue them as well. i am tired of having to show proof everytime they want this money that has been paid off. hope you don't mind me sharing this with you. have a good day..kathy

i am also being hassed by hsbc-orchard for credit card

i lost my job due to these two companies calling my work so many times. my employer stated not to call that they were calling a work phone and they did not care. HSBC & ORCHARD CONTINUED TO CALL! Even after my now, ex-employeer told them i no longer work there, due to them calling a work place. The late fees have accumulated time after time. I was never late, not even on one payment. Then in november the payment got there 1-2 days late and they started the calls. Calling my home and ex-employeer. I want to take legal actions because i know i am not the only one in the world that this has happened to, due to credit companies calling a place or work and as a result loose a 40k a year job.
NOW WHAT? WHERE TO GO FROM HERE?
I CAN'T GET MY JOB BACK AND I WILL NOT PAY A COMPANY THAT CAUSED ME TO LOOSE MY JOB IN THE FIRST PLACE BECAUSE OF THEIR CARELESS WAYS OF CONDUCTING BUSINESS..
IF THERE IS ANYONE ELSE OUT THERE THAT HAS LOST THEIR JOB DUE TO THESE COMPANIES CALLING YOUR WORK PLACE.. WRITE BACK ON THIS BLOG...
THEY NEED TO BE STOPPED AND BETTER MANY THAN ONE PERSON GOING IN ON THIS

HSBC must be hard up for cash

HSBC had sent a collections attorney after me on Dec 4th, see comment titled "It's paid, but another Collection Attorny after me!". I contacted the original payoff attorny to verify that they still have me listed as paid, they did. I sent proof of pay off to the new collections attorny. And guess what? It hasn't even been 2 weeks and another collections attorny has been sent after me! What the hell?!?! They aren't getting any more money out of me, it was paid off last year. Any suggestions as to what my next step should be? I don't expect their attempts to re-collect to stop.

Garnishment of Wages

Your wages can not legally be garnished for a credit card debt; they can only garnish your wages for federal debt such as student loans or taxes which would also include County taxes.

wage attachment

Not true, any legal and validated debt that has received a judgement order from the courts may have their wages attached if you live in a state that allows wage garnsiment.
Most states do, a couple such as PA, Texas, Mass and a few others don't.

Be careful wiith todays economy, I see creditors, from major banks and big balance sue and small balance doctor accounts sue in small claims court now.

Try to make payment arrangements and clear your delinquent balances up
Don't let this happen to you.

Mary's blog is wrong and not true.

Research the law requirements for your state by going on your states superior court website.

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!

I've been receiving calls from this number for a couple of day now. I didn't answer the first time they called because I thought I'd look up the number and see who it is, and that's how I came across this site. Anyway, they had just now called and I finally felt like answering it and bitching them out. THEY WERE CALLING THE WRONG NUMBER!!!! They were trying to get in touch with Marry or Murry, I don't know, but I think that's hilarious! Maybe that's a good idea for all of you who are still being harassed by this number; just tell them that you're not whoever they're asking for. HAHAHAHAHA

Harrassing phone calls at work

I just received a phone call from NCB Management at work about an account with HSBC and was treated horribly! I tried working it out with them and explained my situation and the woman started going off on me and told me that I wasn't paying it because it is Christmas and I want to go on a big shopping spree (Is she kidding!) and that I am paying all my other bills but this one. She told me she was going to garnish my wages (which I know they can't do) and that I had no choice but to make a payment this month, she didn't care how much but that I WAS going to make a payment. After she got rude I told her to not call me at work and hung up where she preceeded to call me four more times! She kept wanting to speak with my boss and I wouldn't let her. She said that was fine that she WOULD be speaking with him. I told her then she will cause me to lose my job and then how does she think I will handle this????

These people are awful. I am just a nervous wreck now and don't know what to do.

Some things that can't be done...

Yes, She can garnish your wages--with a court order. What she can't do is harrass you at your place of work (contacting you there yes if you provided that information--but not repeatedly. Contact the Attorney General's office in your state for assistance with your rights and responsibilities as a debtor. :) Further you might benefit from a (legitimate!) non-profit Community Credit Counseling agency which might be able to intervene on your behalf with this and any other collections issues you may be facing. If you live in a major metro area you will find help by dialing 211 for a referral.
Stay strong... We're all cheering you on from here! :)
--DaveyMars

LAUGH!!!!!

I'd recommend that you do nothing but laugh! This is obviously a scam hoping that someone will think that the call is actually legitimate and give them money or better yet, give too much personal info so they can screw you out of a lot more money than you have. So don't worry about your job or your finances; though maybe keep a closer eye on your finances for any sketchy stuff. If you are worried about your boss being contacted by these clowns, then talk to your boss. Tell them about the calls and promising that your boss will be contacted. You could even mention this site showing that you are not at all alone.

GOOD LUCK!!!!

PS If these comedians call you again, just tell them to put you on their do not call list, and that if they contact you after that, then you will proceed with legal actions.

800-684-8429

Since 2:52PM I have received 9 calls! They are calling my phone every 4 minutes!!!! This can't be legal.

HSBC rides again

Well it appears that many have had issues with HSBC. My calls from them started on 10/16 and have not stopped since. I have currently logged a total of 69 calls in seven days. I contacted the Ohio Atty General and filed a complaint on 10/18. on 10/22 I got a phone call from REX in their executive office assuring me that he was taking care of the problem. Ha, oddly I got five more calls after that and I am sure that I will continue to get more. Today another complaint is going out to the Atty General with the phone log as well. This is intent to annoy and harass in Ohio and carries penalties that I am not afraid to pursue. Good luck to all.

HSBC experience

The HSBC in Adelaide is an issue and a problem one needs to avoid. But the bank is the entire problem with parrots living in them.
One cannot complain as they never take note or any notice of what the customer really wants. Their staff do but do the level above do??. Pretty much a lip service bank. Banking with them over 5 years has been an experience, with one issue over another till you boil over and give them trouble. Rather than actually something, they go into defence mode and block everything. hmmm sounds like all banks huh.
Well lets start, their web site banking is still clunky, slow and many times makes mistakes for you. Their web site software is not part of the bank. As the credit card is a different group, as the loans department is on another whole, and it goes on. Everything takes long. Example:
Taking up a car loan can take over a month.
Taking up house loan is nearly a month and they insult you but giving to much less than the bank next door.
Credit cards...don't even bother as they take no notice what others give out. Example... income of over 60,000 would attract a credit limit of 9 to 15, 00 the most. Them $4,800.
So the next time your kids want to open an account go to HSBC.
For yourself go to a proper bank and not the so call World Bank?
Yes World bank hahaha so funny. As they tell you in Australia they are just local hahaha.
Since yesterday I finally left them after all those years. What a relieve I must say leaving them.
I want to say this their bottom staff are really well groom and trained. Trained in the way they have to put up with so much with their employer products and then also with us customers.
My hat and love to them for working at the bank.
For the Management... why not go to another world.
As for their call back service... hmmmm
Oh and about complains... yes yes lip service and please be careful... they will shut you down as they think you are a bomber or someone who is out there to destroy them.
Well for me light and heavy stress levels why not join HSBC the world stress givers at your local city. All the world banks issues in one bank. Thats why its a world bank. What were you thinking?
Bye'

HSBC

I think I am going to add them to "My Circle" with Alltel. That was my CELL PHONE won't be charged the minutes! By the way.. my top is 10 times in a day.... 8 times in 7 hours.

High Profile Politicians!!!

High profile politicians, including Barack Obama, are seeking to limit the American peoples’ access to on-demand, short term financial assistance. Some cities and towns are trying to impose restrictions on where these legitimate businesses can set up shop. Even worse, several states, including Georgia and North Carolina, have successfully imposed all-out bans on the industry, with several more attempting to follow suit. Citizens all across the nation are seeking to have their voices heard by fighting legislation that would obliterate the payday loans industry nationwide; Obama, and other misinformed political officials, are pushing for a complete ban in the name of personal political gain, regardless of the hundreds of thousands of potential lost jobs in an already turbulent economy.

Payday loans

Are you out of your mind for thinking that anyone on this forum actually will back you up in supporting payday loans? Payday loans are nothing but a trap for the low-income worker. 400%+ APRs are standard in this scamming industry. Get real.

They just called me. My

They just called me. My first late payment ever with them, and they called me at work. After getting the “payment fee” (a load of crap if you ask me) down to $7.50, they’re going to get $97.68 when I get paid Monday. The funny part was this guy whose English was hapless at best confirmed my address, my phone number, where I work, and when he confirmed my work phone number, I said “Well, aren’t you talking to me AT work? Is this confirmation enough?” I hope to get some extra money soon so I can pay the card off and get rid of it. What a stupid idea to try to rebuild credit. HSBC, NEVER AGAIN.

Refused payments

I have an Orchard Bank Card, my account is overdue and overlimit...I get charged the fees on both and the bill keeps increasing...I made a payment in July of 200.00 and they sent it back to my bank. Then started calling me..asking for payment over the phone. I explained that the payment was returned to my bank, I was told they would fix it and for a fee of 15.00 I could make that payment over the phone...I declined..I am not paying 15.00 to make a payment, they refused my payment thru bill pay which I pay a fee for then expect me to pay for a check to them over the phone.....I don't think so. They waived the fee and I made the payment...But, that is the last payment they got from me over the phone....I payed in August, September and I will make the payment for October...it is them who continues to send the payment back to my bank..they said they would fix it and that is what I expect them to do.

Best buy unscruplous

I bought a laptop and the counter person assured me I had 18 month with no payment or interest required. He told me if I didn't pay within 18 months then all interest would be charged to me. I said fine, signed their loan app, picked up the laptop and made my first pmt within 6 months. Paid them off within 8 or 9 months. Their legal dept now say since I didn't make monthly payment, they are charging me interest on interest or fine on fine. I paid off the entire principal and now they are trying to make me pay for interest on interest. This company is scum and I'd like an attorney out there to tell me how to return the favor legally to these clowns.

They call me and ask for

They call me and ask for someone else. I have never heard of this bank or these people. I have had my cell number for over two years.

I have gotten 3 calls today

I have gotten 3 calls today (SUNDAY) from them. I told one of them that what they are doing is illegal and after about 30 minutes after hanging up they called back.

Thats whats called ID is for

Thats whats called ID is for if I do not reconize the number I don't answer. A respectable company will leave a message with a call back numbed. Good lick with these proble companies.

harrsassing phone calls

I too have been receiving harrassig phone calls from 800-684-8429 for the majority of this onth. I have received calls as early as 6:00 am and as late as 11:15 pm. I have never heard of HSBC Bank or Orchard Bank. I have had recent experiences with telemarketers calling me up to 92 times a day. And even though I have done all the things the FTC tells you to do, the calls continue. So I have little hope of stopping these calls too.

Never dealt with them...that I know of.

I have two credit cards at balance zero. I have an auto loan at 2.9% financing through the company I bought the vehicle from. I applied for an additional credit card lately so I could have an employee buy material with it. I have never recieved a reply that I know of. I have lost the credit offer letter that was sent, so I am not sure of the company I applied to, as it was not a huge priority for me, it was just a way to keep track of my worker's material spending. I have never recieved a card from them. I am only assuming it was them, since I now recieve 6 phone calls or more a day from them, and they always hang up on me. I googled the number and this site came up. It is not really a problem for me yet (I start getting business calls around 7 am anyways; but I could understand people who wake up later could be bothered by it), but now I am going to have to get a credit check now, because I am worried they have attacked/attached my credit somehow.

Not Just Credit Cards...

Well, our issue with the lovely HSBC started way back in April of last year. *note, that equals out to 15 months of this* We bought a dog at a pet store. We made the down payment, took her home, and waited for the first bill to come. Two months went by, so we went to the store we bought her at, and they gave us the contact info for HSBC, saying they didn't handle payments beyond the down payment. Ok, so we call HSBC. They are hostile right off the bat, saying they've sent us two bills already and we are behind. My husband tells them we have received nothing. She asks for our account number, he tells her we don't know it because they haven't sent anything. She tells us to wait for the next bill to come. Another two months go by, and finally a bill comes in. I get online to make a payment, and the website says our account number (the one that JUST came in the mail that day) is invalid. So we call, and again are greeted immediately with a hostile representative. This goes back and forht for a while. We don't get another bill until September, same account number.

All the while, they are calling nonstop. As early as 6 am, and as late as midnight. They call hubby at work. his commander has gotten on the phone and told them to stop, and they still haven't. Always hostile, and talking down to my husband. They always ask for our account number, and we always gave them the one on the papers we had. They always said it was invalid. My husband would always ask for the right number so we could pay. They say they can't give it to him, only to the primary card holder. HE IS THE ONLY PERSON ON THE ACCOUNT!!!! if he isn't the primary holder, who the hell is?

We got sick of dealing with them, and told them we were just going to go thru a debt management program. They told us we weren't allowed. We did anyways. They said ok, we'll drop all the late fees, and work with this 3rd party, no problem. The late fees kept piling up. 3rd party keeps telling us HSBC turns down every offer they make them. They start calling us again, telling us we're late, they're going to send us to collections, they've never received any offers, blah blah. Then we get another bill in the mail (the fourth in over a year) and the amount we owe has gone down. That means they were getting the money from our 3rd party.

Now they're back to harrasing my husband all day, every day, and at work still. We're getting calls from a collection agency saying we have to pay them the full amount right now, that HSBC has given over our file to them. And calls from HSBC telling us to just go ahead and send them monthly payments, even though they dont have our account anymore.

AFTER 15 F'ING MONTHS OF THIS, IM READY TO KILL SOMEONE!!! this is ridiculous. This company is staffed by morons, most of whom don't even speak english beyond "would you like to buy X service today?" WE TRIED TO PAY YOU!!!! How can we pay when they don't send paper bills and our account number is invalid to pay online? They need to be shut down.

hsbc

There is an excellent web site Bud Hibbs.com He is a lawyer who tells you how to stop the harrassing phone calls ect. He has a most wanted list of the worst offenders in the bill collector hall of shame. You can print cease harrassment letters ect right off his site. It really helped me to know the statute of limitations on some collections and how to stop these vermin from calling you.

HSBC

I was about 18 months dealing with this company. I finally bought a whistle and used it several times before one night after 9pm a man called. I told him to hold his ears of get off the line. In a kind way he said WAIT.. finally the issue has been resolved. I had never worked so hard to get a problem solved in my life. I do not owe them. Keep your records, when they call repeat your previous conversation and to with whom you spoke. Denial of debt will not stop until you can prove to them what the situation is and that YOU will not pay a dime until the original problem is put into writing. It has to come from them that you were at fault. If you were not receiving their bill where was it for 12 months.. etc. Why did they not send you a bill? Who is in charge of sending out bills? A good one, what country are you in and could you spell your name. Ask to repeat it then you try to spell their name. Honestly, let them be the frustrated one, not you. I stopped any further credit inquires myself for all three credit bureau's. HSBC is a world bank credit company with many different headquarters and not one of them knows what the other has or doesn't have on your account. Each month the telephone contact number is changed or you get an automated machine. Don't leave a message, hang up and try another route to reach a real live person.
Good Luck

This is the first time i

This is the first time i hear about a bank harassing someone over a debt that is not even his. Bank policy allows you to be informed about anything related to them in writing and so one can avoid being harassed by endless calls.

Strange - They Don't Leave Messages or Identify Themselves?

The number started calling me repeatedly this weekend, but does not leave any voice message. I had to do a google search on the number. I have an HSBC credit card which I pay every month and am current on. Very strange. I guess I'll call or go to the website to see what's going on.

Nothing currently owed -- FIVE calls so far today

I am about to literally lose my mind with these morons; perhaps it's already affecting my health. Between my fiance and I we have 3 Orchard Bank/HSBC cards, one of his says it's a "Discover" card. All three cards have been consistantly paid before they are due and always for more than the amount requested. Two of them we haven't been using due to the associated high interest charges. They have verbally, as well as in writing, refused to change us to a lower persentage rate, even when offered proof of the low rates on our Capital One cards. (BTW, in all the years I've been with Cap One, they've NEVER phoned me unsolicited.)

The calls from HSBC begin each day around 8:00am and go all the way up to 8:30pm to 9:00pm. Geez, another call just came in while I am typing this, so that's now up to SIX calls so far, and it's only 1:00! Currently I am under medical care prior to a scheuled operation, and along with needing to get as much rest as possible, am supposed to stay calm. Needless to say, I can't just mute the ringer or machine due to getting calls which are important.

Are there any steps I can take that won't further wear me out? Is there anyone to contact in HSBC with intelligence, or a heart? If we owed passed due amounts, then a certain amount of calls would be expected -- but all of this just to evidently sell something? It has literally brought me to tears, and I really want them to stop and/or pay for this harrassment somehow.

Credit Protection Insurance thru Orchard Bank

I have just a major pain in my butt trying to get the credit protection insurance that I pay for monthly to pay for claims. I was laid off Feb 29,2008. On March 1, 2008, I contacted Orchard Bank and Credit Protection both and told them I was laid off to activate a claim for both. They said I would have to wait 30 days to activate. After 30 days, I called back, they would now send a form that took an additional two weeks to get. I fill out the form and send back which they claim they received on 4/22/08, and now it would take an additional 7-10 days because it was being "reviewed" however, they was no one I could speak to in the "review" department. In the meantime, I am getting calls 35 times a day ( I have two cards with Orchard) they call my cell phone, and never leave a message, I'm sorry during peak hours, I don't answer 800 numbers, however, if you had a brain and would leave a message sure I would call you back.
Today is May 3, I call to check on my status and was told a letter requesting additional information was being sent out. More waiting!!!!!

Has anyone experienced any problems with getting their payments paid thru the Credit Protection or is it just me?? Please send me emails and let me know.

I think Orchard Bank is a bunch of sharks, HARASSING SHARKS, and once I return to work I will make it my life mission to pay off my cards and tell them promptly to kiss my ass.

I am also filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau regarding their inability to pay my claims.

account secure fraud

i suffered a work related injury and sent all of the paper work required. i would receive letters saying it wasn't enough. nothing was good enough for them now i am in collections and get phone calls 10+ times a day and most of them no one there. t same 800 number. i think maybe th feds should be sent for a look.

Account Secure Plus

I have 2 credit cards with HSBC/Orchard Bank. I moved from Ny to NC and I was unable to find employment. I called to activate my benefits. The person on the other end of the phone was in India, I couldn't understand what she was saying and she was having a hard time understanding what I was asking. I finally got her to understand I was calling to file a claim. She told me I would have to fill out paperwork and return it within 45 days. I asked if she could fax itto me and she said they don't have a fax machine but I can fax it back to her.How can I fax it to someone without a fax machine? Anyway I waited for the paperwork in the mail and 5 days after I initiated the claim, I received a letter denying benefits, never even got the packet. I contacted them to inquire about the reason for denial and first was told I hadn't returned the paperwork within the 45 day timeframe. I explained that I had only filed the claim 5 days ago and never got any papers. After being put on hold, they told me it was denied because the event happened more than 120 days ago. I faxed a copy of my lease to show them when I moved. It was denied again. Someone needs to put a stop to this!

Never ever purchase credit

Never ever purchase credit protection insurance. It is only there to make a buck for the banks. If it wasn't profitable to them, do you think they'd offer it? I worked in their marketing dept for a brief time and that is something I learned that I will never forget! Put some money aside in savings as a rainy day fund and use that to make monthly payments next time you are out of work. You'll earn a little interest and won't be giving your money to HSBC!

Been getting calls from them

Been getting calls from them 3 or 4 times a day for the past week at my work number.

Never had a credit card from HSBC. Never give out my work number except to family for emergencies if they can't reach me by cellphone.

It's getting pretty annoying at this point.

linked to e-mail spam?

I have received e-mail spam messages allegedly from HSBC on my work e-mail account for a couple of years. Today I received my first phone call on my cell phone from that number (I didn't answer because I didn't recognize the number), which is how I came upon this website trying to find out who called me. I was recently out of town and had an e-mail auto-reply on my work e-mail which included my cell phone number, so I'm wondering if they received my cell phone number because my e-mail account auto-replied to their spam e-mail. I have never done business with this company.

E-mail Spam

Thanks for posting on our web site. You raised a problem that most encounter and few can explain. Whenever you fill out surveys, buy movie tickets on-line, etc. and provide your email address and use your cell phone as a means for someone to reach you, an unknown company with whom you have no business relationship starts contacting you. If there is a way to "unsubscribe" to the emails coming to your work address, that would be a good first step. Now that a company has your cell number, you will want to call them from your work phone to request they put you on their Do Not Call List. Next, tell them you want a written copy of the company's Do Not Call policy mailed to your work address. In addition to these measures, make sure to register your cell number with the national Do Not Call opt-out registry at 1-888-382-1222. You can register for the DNC list on-line or by using your cell phone to call the above toll-free number. If you go to www.privacyrights.org, look for the telemarketing survival kit. This site should have a link to this kit. Companies can be sued if they don't have a business relationship with you. One important factor is that the Do Not Call rules do NOT apply to businesses and telemarketing folks can get around the law by saying they are taking surveys.

e-mail spam

Thank you for your response and for the information. I have now received 2 phone calls from that number today but no message was left. I will follow up on the info you provided. Thanks!

Harassment

I have no idea who you are - - - I owe you nothing - - you have my number by mistake - - - you have my attention. . . continue and I will own you I am sick of your Harassment and Phone Calls. . . . I will find you out and take care of it MY WAY - - C-U-in court.

"I will find you out and

"I will find you out and take care of it MY WAY" That sounds like a threat, I'd watch what you say because vauge sentences like this can get you in trouble.

In case you've been under a rock, V-Tech,Columbine,and NIU increased security and deem just saying something REMOTELY threatning can get your ass in the slammer.

Just some advice.

What Can I do?

This company (and a few others) call my house every day. HSBC calls -literally- every 15 minutes, (even starting at 8:30 a.m. Sunday morning) and there's never anyone there when I answer.

The problem is that these companies are calling for my husband's ex-wife (they've been divorced and settled for over 10 years). She apparently screwed up her credit a few years ago, lost her house, etc. She doesn't even have a phone anymore, so they call us.

What can I do about it? I'm getting extremely frustrated, and it's really horrible. One day I lost my temper with one real dick - and yelled at him with my 9 year old step-son in the house. He shouldn't ever have to hear that. These jackasses even called MY mother fishing for the x. But when I talk to the companies, they say the X listed our number as a contact - which is complete crap.

What can I do - really?

Canada too

I've been getting calls every day lately from that outfit on my cell. Never heard of HSBC before and never heard of the person the recording names either.
I just filed a complaint with the federal Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC).

Collection calls

These two fact sheets from The Privacy Rights Clearinghouse should help you deal with the Collection Company.

Orchard Bank/HSBC

I never had any problems with Household Bank - except they kept charging me every couple of months for a service I DID NOT ask for. I would have to call every time and tell them to take it off.
I also got the notification that they where changing my interest rate from 9.9% to 27.99%.
I sent back my shredded card with the letter from them declining and asking them to cancel my card.
That is when I started having big problems with them.
I got the extra charge for the service I did not ask for - again!
They also said they were getting my payments late. Nope, I paid on there website and paid 5 days prior to my due date - like always.
So far they racked up huge fees on my card. Between the service I did not ask for, which in turn made my account over the limit which is another fee. and late payment charges.
I tried to talk to them about this and all they could say is when can you pay.
Not what they would do to fix it.
They call 8 to 10 times a day and at my work. I tell them to quit calling at my work and still they do not listen. They have been calling my work for 2 weeks now every day! It does cause a lot of problems with my work.
At this point, they are on the bottom of my list to pay. What's the difference if I'm late or not. It's their word against mine and according to them now, I'll be late no matter what.
I'm encouraging an investigation on this company.

You are just lying because

You are just lying because anyone who know business knows you are making this up just to try to get out of paying your bills. Grow up & take care of business & you won't have these problems you claim.

ignorant

Im having the same problem, I have a card , had never been late and even paid it off and im still being harrassed. I think its ignorant and immature to just assume someone is lying. I wouldnt cast stones in glass houses. Walk a mile in someone elses shoes before you open your ignorant mouth and bash people.
Im a collage education professional with a 6 figure income, I can afford to pay all my bills, this is just harrassment.

ignorant

If you are a collage education professional with a 6 figure income. WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH AN ORCHARD CREDIT CARD? These cards are for people with bad credit. Seems like you are in this arena so with your 6 figure income somehow you must of screwed up!!!

ignorant

I guess they did not teach

I guess they did not teach you to properly spell 'college' in that collage of yours.

Just because you haven't had

Just because you haven't had these issues before, doesn't mean people are not telling the truth. And by the way, do you know what a "typo" is. Get off the internet and get a life.

typo

does the word typo mean anything to you

well i will tell you what

well i will tell you what you think where all lying get a hsbc card pay it off and see how it goes

this is just bad business.

this is just bad business. whoever had my cell phone number before me apparently accrued a lot of debt. i have gotten numerous phone calls from the state revenue service asking for this person and just a month ago i started getting calls from this number, they ask for this person and i say you have the wrong number. what is great is that the person actaully asked are you sure no one you know has this name? even if i did, like it is my problem. of course this didnt stop them from calling again and again.

so i called their "customer service". i have a credit card from this bank. i said people are calling my phone repeatly asking for this person, and i am not his person. the customer rep looked up my account and said we have no record of anyone contacting you. 3 times i had to tell her that they werent calling me, they were calling my cell phone asking for someone who wasnt me. Her advice was to ignore the calls and then proceeded to talk non-stop about services they could provide me.

i am going to pay off this card and be done with this, and get a credit card from a real bank.

The fact of the matter is

The fact of the matter is that when you owe money and can't pay it all back at once (typical in America) people get upset or depressed in many cases when they get about 10 calls a day asking where their money is. Not saying that this is my situation, actually I have no business with them, however a family member of mine does.

I work out of the home and when I constantly have to drop work to look at the damn caller ID, and break my concentration because of this, it really pisses me off. A SINGLE call a day is fine, however these people are zealots when it comes to calling their customers. I'd refuse to pay just because they fill my answering machine up with blank messages. As far as I'm concerned these folks can take a stroll through oncoming traffic.

Pay your bills

Dont apply for Credit Cards if you dont want to pay your bills.
If you owed me $, I'd call you all day too!
Take responsibility for yourself and quit acting like a victimized child.

This is not a site for

This is not a site for ignorant people like you. If you don't have any of these issues, why are you here. There is no need to be rude to these people, they don't owe YOU the money so keep your rude comments to yourself. Do you even know what harassment is?????

Um..ok

Say that crap when you are in my situation where you have had two back surgeries in 4 months and are only drawing half a pay check. This was unexpected and not intentionally. I will be honest and say my first thing to let slide was my credit card. My car, house, lights, insurance, groceries and gas were more important.

So until you are in a situation like mine, don't tell me to take responsiblity. Don't tell me to quit acting like a victimized child. I can't help my situation and screw you.

Re: Pay you Bills

I sincerely hope that nothing happens in your life to affect your income. I hope you never have to go through a death in the family, divorce, loss of job, illness, ect... People get credit cards to hopefully improve their credit rating. Without credit cards, some people can't get approved for a loan. Underwriters want to see a variety of of accounts. Mortgage, revolving, and installment. We forced to depend on the broken credit reporting agencies.. You may want to read up on the credit card companies raising interest rate up to 30% for the majority of credit card holders. Has this happened to you? It might be safe to say you are in the collection business.

Anyone who would actually

Anyone who would actually believe this stuff just doesn't know anything about the company. I have been late before & have always been treated with total respect. I don't know what makes a person think they should not pay back money to a credit card when no one forced you to use it. Either pay your bill, don't buy more than you can pay for or let them help you as they have me. I can't stand a person who tries to make excuses not to pay a bill. I have worked in collections before & one thing is for sure. There are two kinds of people. One type of person does what ever they can to pay their bills & makes no excuses if they can't. The other is the one who tries to figure out anyway not to pay & blame the people they owe. You even have people who say it's the companies fault for giving them the card, or the one who thinks they can get a card & run it up over the limit & then say they want to close the account & pay what they want when they want. Boy I wish I could do that with my house payments, car payments & utility bills. For you people who want to gripe about collections just try it with your other bills & see how far you get.

Again, what are you ignorant

Again, what are you ignorant people on this site for. Just to help out with harassing people. GET A LIFE!!!

Get a life?

You telling people to get off this site and get a life, you get off this site and back on the phone before HSBC fires you for not making your quota of harassing phone calls.

assuming you know everyone's business, and can judge them

Well, I'm sick of their calling me too. They start in the morning about 8 and call up until 10 pm. I HAVE A PREPAY VISA. This means, for all you judgemental people, that I do not charge anything unless I have put money to cover it on my card. NOW, how the hell does that make me someone who does not want to pay my bills. It's Sunday. and they have already called 5 times at 2:44 pm. Stop judging people, and be so bitchy. Get a life of your own, and go comment on something you know about.

Respect....is that what you call it.

I get about 10-15 calls a day from them. They start around 8:15am and end around 8:30 every evening. So don't tell me I am lying when I know how many times they call my cell number.

Also, I would like to see how you could pay all your bills when your income has been cut in half to do an illness, like two back surgeries. My house, care, insurance, lights, groceries and gas are a little more important than a credit card.

HSBC Terrorist

Well I am sure if they had your cell number they would drive you nuts....my husband lost his job a month ago and I called them and told them I would be late and have kept them up to date on things...their response...to call 10 times a day...both to our home and cell and went so far as to tell my 15 year old son to tell his parents to pay their bills. Which really upset him because he knows his Dad lost his job and we have tried to hide the financial situation it has put us in...
I used to collect bad debt and KNOW that they are abusing the law and have filed a complaint with our telephone logs (home and cell) with a record of their repeated phone calls.

My advise to any one having this trouble..get Vonage phone service it records EVERY SINGLE phone call incoming and out going... and nail them for violating the law.

Not everyone is able to avoid the hit from our failing economy...and those who posted things like just pay your bills...well when the company they work for simply closes their doors they will understand that MOST people do not choose to be in this situation...My husband served his country for 20 years...and this has happened to us even with a small pension...we are not trying to avoid paying our bills...we are just in a crunch...due to several factors...retirement...lay off....and college for 2 kids...and trying to be able to see my Mom at least once a month since she has terminal cancer...

HSBC is the quintessential predatory lender

I know that those who say stuff like "just pay your bills" have no real life experience,
have rich parents, and someone to bail them out, have never lost a job and a parent
in the same week.

i took out a credit card (my first ever and the biggest mistake of my life) from HSBC.
They slapped an unauthorized charge for "insurance" on my account in 1998 for
99.00 threw me over my credit limit and when I wrote and wrote and wrote them
about this issue, they never responded. They continued to charge me false and
bogus charges and over the limit fees due to their bogus and false charges to my
account. Ordinarily, I would have paid that card off immediately but due to
the ever increasing catapult and spike in interest rates, I refused to pay
the loan off. I tried and tried to work with them and get them to reverse
the bogus charges and recast the amount so that I could get rid of that
axe hanging over my head and I was told "we can't do that'. Meaning,
we don't give a rat's @&%*. the debt on that
card is a whopping near 9000.00 in spite of the fact that I opened and
closed this account in 1998. This is the quintessential predator in lending.
They served me today with a law suit. I'm going to find someone to
file a class action suit against them. I've never tried to get out of a
repaying a debt in my life but due to unforseen events in my life over
the past 12 months, I have not been able to even make the minimum
payments. I have done collecting on past due accounts in my life and know the rules.
They have broken every single one not to mention have no concept of
"Truth in lending". Really, be careful before you cast that stone....
you don't know where you will find yourself in this economy in the
next 12 months.

hahaha i agree

I thought I was finally free but guess what THEY CALLED YESTERDAY TO GET ME TO TAKE OUT ANOTHER CARD!I told them on their call and thier mailings there is NO WAY I would ever do business with them again

I PAID MINE

well let me tell you I payed my bill took a year to finally get these idiots to stop calling me

...just doesn't know anything about the company.

What I do know is that they call 5-8 times a day for a person I have never heard of and I have told them that (a few times). Yet the calls continue EVERY @!$*ing day!
Yeah, your kind of company. You should go work for them.... or maybe you already do.

I PAID ON TIME!

I am paid up... I am not late... I don't even USE this card that much anymore BECAUSE they won't stop harrasing me!

They have called my neighbors...

They have called my business partners...

I have NO IDEA where they got the phone numbers from because I never called them from any number but mine and my assistant's phone!

THEY WON'T LEAVE ME ALONE!

I get 20 calls a day and it doesn't matter if they cashed the check I sent as payment YESTERDAY... They will continue to call.

Now I send in a letter saying "If you do not stop your harrasing calls I will file a complaint with the BBB." with my payments.

I know it takes time to get numbers cycled out of a calling system so I am giving them ONE MORE billing cycle to stop calling before I file a complaint.

What they are doing isn't just bad business practice, IT IS ILLEGAL!

You might not be such a smartass if you PAID YOUR BILLS yet still get 20 calls a DAY to both YOUR phone numbers AND the numbers of friends and family!

CALL THEM BACK AGREE WITH TURKEY

I found revenge much like turkey did,i called them back, now we all need to do the same.

HSBC SUCKS ASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Okay - I DO read the fine print - and there is nothing in there that says if you are late on one payment - that they can call you 90 times a freaking day. And not only THAT - but for the $10. payment on a balance of like $128. Yes - I have three different cards with them - and I was late on ONE card - What gives them the right to call about the other cards - WHICH WEREN'T EVEN LATE?!??!?!?!??!- it HAS to be costing them a small fortune to keep calling me from India and the Phillipines.... This company is F***** up and belive me - I have taken out a loan to pay off the highest card $100. balance and these hopefully they can all just go F*** themselves... I learned my lesson and have also passed it on to people who MAY have thought about using HSBC....

It seems like a lot of

It seems like a lot of people have negative things to say about HSBC. Rediculous fees, poor customer service, APRs that change without notice - the list goes on and on!

We'd love to get your feed back. We recently started a poll on the Worst / Best Credit Card Issuers. Feel free to stop by and give us your opinions.

hsbc

HSBC SUCkS billing me for something I did not ok now they call me all day

No card, no account, still getting harassed

I applied but was rejected a credit card by HSBC because I had no credit, not bad credit. Well a few months later they start calling because they say I owe an annual fee. HUH?!?!?! The first time they call I get a 'supervisor' who apologizes and says he will cancel the calls and that I owe nothing. He also tells me if I don't wait on the phone with him while he does this it won't be cancelled and reported on my credit report. After I inform him about my feelings about this (non-abusivly) he gets it done (I thought). Well I got another call LATER THAT NIGHT, THEN ON THE FOLLOWING SUNDAY MORNING asking for the $$ I owe. I'm calling lawyers.

If I Get One More Call...

I have been getting calls from them for a week non-stop now...about 6 calls a day no exaggeration. I picked up once, they put me on hold and then asked for my parents (i'm 19) who are on vacation for 3 weeks. I told them, they still call!! Not only do they call obnoxiously all day, they call at like 7am on a Saturday!!!! What?!! Who does that? And then again at 9 am and again at 10:30 and just now (which prompted me to look up the number) at 12:30...It's getting ridiculous. Not too mention my parents have absolutely NO ties with this company...

HSBC, HFC, Household Bank, Orchard, etc.

For information on abuses of HSBC and its affiliates go to http://householdwatch.com. If you want to end consumer abuse at its source, simply never vote for a republican. Since Bush has been in office consumer protections have been weakened by those appointed by Bush to manage government regulatory agencies that are supposed to protect consumers. Also, we can blame both republicans and democrates for changes to the bankruptcy laws, particularly chapter 7, that make it much more difficult to discharge debts and obtain a fresh start. Exploitation of U.S. consumers, especially young people and those with low income, has become a global game. With the prospect of appointment of more and more conservative judges, don't expect a lot of help from the judicial system. It is a free-for-all feeding freenzy and consumers are the meal.

HSBC

This is Turkey again,on my last post just click on the high-lighted web-page to find the dirt on HSBC,those mother fuckers aren't getting away with this! My name is Turkey,I'm here to help.

Call them

We should call them and say this is Turkey?I would love to get those fuckers back.

HSBC

My friends I've found my revenge on HSBC,I call them everytime I get a chance, telling them my name is Turkey etc.,if you look at several complait web-sites you'll hear my "Turkey Revenge" story on 800-684-8429,HSBC has already broken the rules please check out the following web-site and you'll see what I mean.(NOTE THIS IS CAP SENSITIVE) HTTP://www.federalreserve.gov/SECRS/2006/November/20061116/R-1250/R-1250... My friends get your revenge call them back! You may want to alter (change) your voice! The best time to call is between 3-7 pm eastern standard time, the calls are transferred to India (I kid you not! They really are tranferred to India) From that point forward they're always asking for my home phone number meaning they have no way of knowing my number!Join the revolution! Get your revenge call them back!My army is building, many people are on my side and are getting their revenge on HSBC,I've made several posts on different web-sites. My name is Turkey,I'm here to help.

HSBC

HAHAHAHAHA! I got those basturds back! I kept calling them back telling them my name was Turkey and I was looking to buy turkey.

Don't ignore it, fix it

For all the people who complain about the problems and don't do anything about it, FIX IT! If they filed a bankruptcy report with the CRA (credit reporting agencies/) then send them a verification letter! If they can't verify it, it automatically gets taken off. If HSBC won't stop calling you, send a letter asking for a cessation of contact, and another one asking for debt verification. Telling them over the phone to stop calling you doesn't mean squat, you need to mail it to them.

I found out about all of this by visiting the forums at http://consumers.creditnet.com/Discussions/ (half a million posts with advice about fixing your credit report and stopping credit calls).

Thanks - after all the posts

Thanks - after all the posts griping - this is the most helpful one I've read.
Thanks, for the link. Dave

Orchard Bank/HSBC

I applied for and received my Orchard bank credit card after a chapter 7 bankruptcy. They sent me a card with a $1000 credit limit. That was 3 years ago. Today the credit line is $2500, I have never had to pay a late fee or an overlimit fee as I do not abuse the terms of the card. I may be the odd one but I never had any problems with them. I pay my bill early and stay under my credit line, last month they sent me a ZERO percent check on the mastercard for a year. I wonder if I am being treated special by them or if others do not appreciate the card and abuse it. NO I do not work for HSBC, I am just a customer like the rest of you. If you pay your bill early, and stay under your credit line, I am sure they will treat you the same way they treat me.

Bull!!!

You say you don't work for HSBC_______________BULL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How nieve, doesn't work that

How nieve, doesn't work that way for everybody....

If you have no problems with

If you have no problems with them why are you looking at the complaints site?

Indeed.

Hahaha, good frickin' question.

Reply to your comment

I had/ have excellent credit with hsbc however i had an accident last year and called them to tell them i would probably have to use my credit insurance for a month or so.... well i didn't and caught up within 6 weeks... they increased my interest rate to 30% ... they did not raise the interest on the other cards only orchard because their customer service people are in another country and do not comprehend the english lanuage.... so you have no problems but i had none either until the accident and jsut needed a few weeks to handle stuff.... by the way, my phone calls from them averaged about 20 to 28 a day my doctor was furious....

HSBC Credit Card Services

No they will not. They are predatory, abusive and evil. I paid on time. Don't think I was ever late. I am so afraid of these jerks I paid as early as I could, all the time. I never went over limit and seldom used the card.

I just got notification that they where changing my interest rate from 8.9% to 29.99% because they could. They claim there was something in my credit report that they randomly run to see if they can screw you out of their teaser rate to the default rate. Why the run credit checks to see if they can screw a good customer in good standing is wrong. When they decide they are going to burn you with the default rate and you have paid on time, and not done anything wrong on the account - that is EVIL!

I have heard of this type of thing but this was the first time it hit me. A great teaser rate and then the bomb. Get online and look at the massive volume of reports, sites, blogs, news groups, and angry people.

I GOOGLED "HSBC Sucks" in quotes last week and found 2600 pages in the GOOGLE return for that one term alone. Try HSBC CREDIT CARD COMPLAINTS" or Household Band Sucks, or any number of dozens of other phrases and you'll see what I'm talking about.

These people suck. If you have not been hit yet, consider yourself lucky.

JD Powers released a report in October 07 that listed Household Bank dead last in Customer Service for the Major Credit Providers. Search JD POWERS and Credit Card Customer Service.

These people suck. HSBC credit Card Services have made me angry. Add me to the many thousands of pissed off customers and ex-customers - and please forward me class action, petition or consumer activist info when it comes available. I have seen Presidential Candidates mention these issues now and have found some congressional comments online too.

These jerks need to be slapped hard and hard again.

http://www.SaxPlayersBlog.com

I agree 200% HSBC are a

I agree 200% HSBC are a bunch of shitheads, and I am being very, very nice. The SOB's call all fucking day long and then hang up when the machine picks up and the payment isn't even late! When I talk to them (4 times know) they don't give a shit and promise that it is the computer's fault and they will "make a note of it in the file" MY ASS THEY DID. Today was it, they called 4 times before 10 am, what the fuck is so important that they had to call 4 times before 10 am and NOT leave a message on the machine? I hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate HSBC. the company needs to be taught some serious customer service skills as they are all a bunch of conniving, lying, fraudulent, thieving, ass-kissing, shitheads who could care less about anything other then $.

The Credit Card industry is a legal form of slavery

Folks, the whole credit industry is a legal form of slavery. From the very highest in the Federal Reserve which is not a government entity but is owned by private bankers. The Federal Reserve prints money out of thin air and then loans it to the United States Treasury at interest. Guess who pays the interest - YOU. Then the government goes deeper and deeper into debt and the private bankers make a fortune. Right now US Taxpayers owe so much debt, that they could sell everthing in the United States three times and it would not pay for the National Debt. Personal debt is much the same way. They tell you that you can't have good credit unless you get credit. So basically if you want a loan for a home or car, the only legitimate things to get a loan for, you have to have lots of credit cards and other debt to prove that you are credit worthy. So you have to pay these companies loan shark fees in order to buy creditworthyness. So you accumulate thousands of dollars in debt and pay outrageous interest rates to keep your credit in good shape. The whole credit industry is a scam. In the 60's very few people had credit cards and the interest rates where relatively low, but people still were able to get auto loans and home loans without the secret formula that the credit companies use now. The difference is, that Americans could actually had great jobs because high paying manufacturing jobs where located in the United States. These jobs provided good wages, great healthcare and benefits. Now instead after Trade Agreements like NAFTA, instead
of one person working that could provide for the whole family, you have two parents working, and relying on things like credit cards to exist. It has totally flipped.

Well, you really have to

Well, you really have to keep informed on how this entire system works. All of the banks are using what is called universal default. If you are one day late on your electric bill, which is not even on your credit report. ZING, they will raise you to their default rate on your credit card.

I agree that it is NOT fair. However, Chase started the practice many years ago and all the rest of the banks followed their lead. WAMU is now raising almost everyone to 31.99 and will not even tell you where your default was.

What this is as I see it is as follows; The people who are paying the banks, the PERFORMING accounts they are trying to get to pay for the supbprime mortgage mess that they are all in. If they raise the rates on performing credit cards it will cover many of the losses they are taking hits now on their mortgage portfolios.

Credit cards are the worst type of debt you can possibly have. If possible, just pay it in full each month when the bill arrives and you will never have to worry about interest charges. Although HSBC might seem bad, they are not as bad as others out there like First Premier, TOTAL card, etc. I had those cards before HSBC. Now if you want to talk BAD those cards are the worst.

Fraud bankrupcty

There are many people who are behind on payments to HSBC and several law suits in process against HSBC for false information provided to the credit report companies. All of my credit cards are paid in full and I do not want another card from HSBC. The fact HSBC reported I had filed bankrupcty is a deception and I have NOT filed for bankrupcty. It is a blessing that you have been able to pay all of your credit card debt and increase your score but when a credit damaging lie from HSBC has been reported then action must be taken. Perhaps a research of the law suits for improper banking practices against HSBC is reported on line at several websites it would be good to read them. The phone calls were prior to the complete payment to HSBC and I advised them that I was on a National DO NOT CALL list and they were breaking the law. I was not late nor do I owe them anything. Again, this is banking fraud.

Both HSBC and Orchard tried

Both HSBC and Orchard tried to screw me. I had paid both of the credit cards off in full, cut them up, sent them back and told them to close the account. After three months I started receiving bills in the mail with the yearly fee and when I didn't pay the bill, each month had interest charges tacked on. It took over six months to get to the point where I thought it had finally been taken care of. However, I am now starting to get calls from 800-684-8429. I don't answer the phone if I don't know who it is. Usually they just hang up, but once in a while they leave a message that says it is important that I call this number back...I have no accounts with these people any more!! Why are they still harrassing me.

Wrongful bankruptcy named

Yesterday, I received from Discover Card a notice of rejection for a new card. The reason: In April of 2007 I had filed bankruptcy. I have not!. I paid in full a credit card from HSBC and was sent a charge of $29.00 after I had paid in full and my check had cleared the bank. When I complained to the bank, I was told it was an interest due on the last interest. I refused to pay interest upon interest and asked to speak to a supervisor. The woman then said that the interest would be deleted and my account cleared. It was not until December 14th that I had any idea HSBC had turned the charge over to bankruptcy. I asked what proof he had and if there were signatures; what bankrupcy court had ordered the returns; what county, state was the case issued and judgment. He had no answer. After telephoning the bank on December 14th I was told to call back in a week. There was no case reference to use when I called back. "The man's name was Acbeeb. Not sure of the spelling." The bank had to research the issue and I could obtain the results in a week. I am more than angry! My credit report is not accurate now, I do not know when it will be cleared up and I NEVER filed banckruptcy

Orchard Bank Harassment

My mother passed away on 10/10. She had a credit card with Orchard Bank/HSBC. I made a change of address with the post office so that her mail came to me because I am the only one of her 3 children that live in the state and we figured it would be easier that way. Unfortunately my mother had very little money in the bank. She had no real estate, or valuable property. She lived in Minnesota (as do I) and when the estate is less than $20,000 and no property there is no probate. Well, in the last 6 days Orchard bank has called me 16 times! This is very upsetting. The holidays are stressful enough having just lost my mother, but now they are calling and harassing me! I was not a co-signer on any credit card, nor was I a joint holder of any card. The first time they called I explained to them that she passed away, had no assets and therefore there will be no probate. I requested they not call me again. 15 more calls have been made. The callers seem to be in a foreign country that have no real clue, and do not speak english very well. I've spoken to a lawyer, and they have no right to contact me once I have told them the information I did and to stop calling me, yet they persist. Since this was not my debt, how do I go about getting rid of them? I've looked online and see all kinds of horrible stories about them. This is really upsetting. My mother's birthday was Monday and they called me then - I lost it and yelled at them and the jerk just yelled back at me. These overseas call centers are staffed with such cheap labor they don't care if they are breaking the law, or breaking someone's heart. The post earlier from someone who said to suck it up, well they need to get a clue and feel a little empathy or compassion for others. People sometimes have problems, and they shouldn't be treated like criminals, and they certainly shouldn't be harrassed while mourning the loss of a love one. I hope one single person that was thinking of doing business with Orchard/HSBC and decides not to, the best way to hurt these companies is to affect their bottom line. Anyway, thank you for the forum.

Filing Suit!

I have had a card in the past, paid it off in full. Dont owe this company ONE RED CENT. However, i seem to get a different response from the number. I get 12-20 calls DAILY (this is no joke), when i answer the phone, there is no person on the other line. At the 10 second mark, it hangs up. This is happening EVERY damn day, so i am done being harassed. I have hired a lawyer, and not just one, a TEAM. Does anyone want to entertain the idea of a class action suit? If so, contact me by posting and/or email. If we can get 20 or so together, we can stop this and possibly be rewarded. This has caused several problems for me: I have changed my cell number 4 times in the last 3 months. I have paid overage charges for the minutes. It has rung and rung during work hours, SEX, church, during my sons homework time....you name the time, the phone is ringing non stop! Lets stop this for good!

Class action suit

Isn't it illegal to have foreign nationals handle our personal business accounts, homeland security says companies have to hire us citizens.. so how are they getting away with giving our info to other contries who employees do not understand english? washington mutual is doing this as well with our checking and savings accounts as well as their credit card department... don;t they ahve to notify you if the interest rate is going to be increased so we can cancel our accounts?

HSBC suit

Sign me up. I've never heard of this company, have NO credit cards of any kind, or any debts, and I get harrassing phone calls.
Let me know what I need to do.

Response to lawsuit

I would love to get a lawsuit going. These people are assholes and it is not as if they are not being paid. They obviously like to harass people. What do we have to do to get the suit going?

Count me in too! I'd love to

Count me in too! I'd love to get something going against HSBC!

The problems with Americans

Sounds like you are all living beyond your means and/or you don't read the fine print in the contract. Sounds like typical American whining.

Suck it up and shut the "F" up.

Maybe if you all took some basic financing classes and live within your means, you would not have these issues.
