How to avoid a Solar Nightmare on Elm Street: Do NOT Use Sungate Energy Solutions!
Recently, A UCAN member was sold an inadequate solar panel system by American Home Craft (now known as Sungate Energy Solutions). The UCAN member was over charged for 7 solar panels after being pressured into signing the contract by a representative who said, "this price is only good today." The customer then signed the contract and hoped for the best. However, the best resulted in a visit from Freddy Krueger as the nightmare on Elm St. began.
The UCAN member was promised that this solar energy collection would "cause the dial to spin backwards, banking energy to be used after the sun set". This never happened. The customer was told that the electric bill would be $5-$15 per month, which has not been the case on any billing cycle.
After lodging complaints with Sungate Energy Solutions, the company moved the panels twice, finally relocating them on the roof to face south. The panels were installed originally facing east. In the original letter of dissatisfaction to the CEO, the UCAN member wrote, "Either move the panels or take them out and refund my money". They did move the panels, however, the UCAN member has endured a customer service nightmare after choosing to deal with Sungate Energy Solutions who cares more about scamming customers than providing a quality service and a good product.
UCAN suggests that you please do your homework and buy from a solar company with honorable business practices, otherwise do not fall asleep at night or Freddy will show up in your nightmares until you rid you home of any Sungate Energy Solutions product!.

Don't hold your breath you will turn blue in the face.A year ago we heard the same story no more PGE bills signed in FEB of course the price is good for one day only . Should have seen the signs when it took over 4 months to finally get the panels installed. We heard all the excuses you could imgined.

Now I am paying off the panels at over $300.00 a month and anothe $100.00 a month PGE I was robbed blind Looking into seeing if I can take any legal action for fraud .

Who was the salesman & "Field Manager" please. I'm having similar results.
High Pressure Sales Tactics / Extremely Overpriced
Caveat Emptor. The "field manager" of "Sungate Energy Solutions" that arrived was very nice. But, soon, the conversation turned to what nice people we are, what a nice and competent company he worked for, and how wonderful the products were. The rep kept throwing up confusing incentives and special allowances, and had to call his boss via cellphone to get authorization. It was then I knew I was dealing with a used car salesman. I was eventually quoted about $40,000 for a 14 panel (230w each) system, each having their own micro inverter. Because there is a 3 day right to cancel, after signing, I did some homework the next day. When told I was cancelling the contract, the "field manager" immediately dropped his price to $26,000, which is a tacit admission that I would have been rather badly screwed. The actual cost for my system installed should be about $20,000. It pays to shop around yourself. The friends that referred us did not do their homework, and overpayed badly.
