San Diego Chamber of Commerce Opposes Prop 16

Ahh, life is good in San Diego. The sun is shining again, the Padres are off to a great start, and the Chamber of Commerce voted not to endorse Prop 16. The last item on the list may not be exactly San Diego related, but hopefully San Diegans will help knock Prop 16 out of the park.

According to a great blog by John Geesman, a former Energy Commissioner with the PUC, the San Diego Chamber of Commerce voted 79 to 2 to oppose Proposition 16, the initiative proposed by PG&E to make it more difficult for Californians to get its power from a public agency. As our loyal readers know, UCAN is adamantly against Prop 16 for a number of reasons. It is extremely important for all California citizens to get out and vote against Prop 16 in this upcoming election.

In addition to this post, Mr. Geesman's blog provides great insight into Prop 16 and why its passing would be bad news for California energy consumers. Check out his blog, as well as our blog for any updates on Prop 16.
