Health Insurance Provider Hartford Spies on Disability Claimants
Hartford Insurance has been caught spying on disability patients. Chris Cuomo of ABC reported the abuses of using videotape surveillance to follow people who are clearly disabled and have been diagnosed by a physician. Are the insurance companies qualified to diagnose disabilities? UCAN thinks not and wants physicians and patients to determine what is best for patients. UCAN Questions Life Insurance Company’s Practices, Department of Insurance Says Nothing We Can Do
In a letter to Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner, UCAN raised concerns about the policies and practices of a life insurance company and the Insurance department’s handling of UCAN’s complaint about the policies. To date UCAN has not received response to the letter. We know the Commissioner is busy running for Governor, but we would appreciate a response as to why our request to the Department was met with the response “there is nothing we can do.”
