National Dealers Warranty Auto Coverage Deceptive Letters

National Dealers Warranty FINAL NOTICE letters are sent to unsuspecting consumers with their Customer ID #s to make people believe they already have a 5-year, 100,000 mile extended warranty on their cars.  Victims are led to believe that they are getting an employee discount price if they renew within 48 hours.  The letter goes on to state there's no credit check required and 0.0% financing is guaranteed for any warranty activated immediately.  The letter also states that claims are paid directly to the repair shops and therefore customers won't have to worry about reimbursements.  Whoever is behind this company, has purchased leads with full names and addresses. The San Diego letter copy UCAN received is signed by a John Walters--someone no one will ever find.  UCAN found a lot of Internet site complaints about this company's deceptive practices and found that the Better Business Bureau (BBB) had nothing kind to report about the company. Another name for the company is United Warranty Wholesalers.

For example, http://stlouis.bbb.org/WWWRoot/Report.aspx?site=142&bbb=0734&firm=310030296 depicts the BBB's view of the company's reputation.  In addition, this BBB report states: "on March 6, 2008, the Missouri Attorney General filed suit in St. Charles County Circuit Court against National Dealer Warranties for sending consumers postcards and letters informing them that they had limited time to purchase renewed, extended warranties for their vehicles. The Attorney General claimed the company neglected to inform consumers that it was not affiliated with the dealer or manufacturer of the vehicle, or that it was offering to sell motor vehicle extended service contracts instead of warranties. The suit is pending."

Warranty

Same thing, I signed up via telephone after seeing a TV commercial. It took them over 30 days to send me the info to look over. I tried to call in within the 30 days to cancel since I didn't receive the packet. They said, oh don't worry about it, we'll give you extra time. Afte you look it over, let us know if you aren't interested. So, I looked it over, called them back, they said I had to send a letter via fax THAT DAY to cancel for a full refund. I didn't have a fax, but had a friend fax it for me, and received a confirmation letter, which she had not reason to keep. I waited a little over a week for my refund, but instead, they billed me for another month! I called them and they said they didn't receive the fax and I was now outside the 45 day window to cancel. I'm out $360! Also, they told a lot of lies to get me to sign up, which is very different from what the contract stated. I have filed with the MO attorney general, the FTC, and the BBB and i'm still on the search for other sites, I can get the word out. Do NOT BUY A WARRANTY FROM WWW.STOPREPAIRBILLS.COM, also known as National Dealers Warranty in St Peters, Missouri.

I went through the same scenario as you, only that I called to cancel on the 17th day, after waiting 14 days to get a contract they promised to send which never came.Instead they sent me a notice from a bank and another institution about billing me.Then, I realised that they were more interested in collecting my money than offering me services. If they could not fulfill a simple promise of sending me a contract within 14 days of signing up with them, how could they honor a claim if I forwarded one. I also thought that they wanted the 30 days grace period to run off making me loose my initial down payment.Your experience confirms my suspicion.

I tried to cancel, they refused and said that I had to make them understand why!
It took me three phone calls of no less than an average of 20 minutes conversation each time, a threat to inform BBB, a threat that they might get a letter from an attorney, and obtaining their consent as required by Federal Law that I intended to record our conversations before the 3rd agent directed me to write a letter of cancellation.I refused to fax it.I sent it by overnight mail (on a friday evening) to make sure it got to them within 20 days, so I still had 10 days of the 30 days grace period left, should they want to play more headgames.I sent copies of the letter to the other institutions that wrote me on their behalf and also sent a copy to my credit card company disputing the transaction. The mail to stoprepairsbills.com, I requested for signature confirmation and the other mails had receipt confirmation request on them.
Within 24 hrs of receiving my letter, my credit card company contacted them and refunded my downpayment. It reflected in my account immediately and I also got a letter from the credit card company three days later informing me of the full refund and advicing me that I keep a record of all my transactions with stoprepairsbills.com.I never received any letter from stoprepairsbills.com till today. What matters is that I was able to cancel my contract with them and got back my refund. Boy, am I glad I did.The effort I put in paid off, though it was frustrating and sometimes seemed amusing.I believe that their strategy is to stall you long enough that you eventually give up on your efforts.

I pasted my experience at "ripoff report.com". If you google the website, you will read experiences of other people with stoprepairsbills.com, aka "National dealer warranty".

I hope your case has been settled and in your favor.

This company is corrupt. I bought and paid in full for a policy in 2007. Now, my truck engine blew up and quess what, they declined to pay. Now I have to come up with $4200 to pay for the repairs. This company is corrupt, do not purchase anything from them. I am filing a report with the Ohio Attorney General's Office.

The truth about the Personal Money Store

They are predatory. The people involved in the pay day loan business are evil.

By the industry's own admission, a $500 loan can cost you $3,900.

Got it?

With few exceptions, pay-day loans are a very poor deal, often charging as much as 391% interest according to the FTC. The creeps who run The Personal Money Store know this, so in order to improve their reputation, they have been posting frivolous blogs here at UCAN.org.

The purpose is two-fold: 1) they want to appear "consumer friendly" because UCAN is a respected consumer advocacy group. By blogging on our Web site, they increase their search status with google and gain credibility they don't deserve.

2) By blogging on our Web site, they are making it look as though they either work for or with UCAN, which is deceptive.

3) By blogging on our Web site, they create the impression of a tacit endorsement by UCAN.

Finally, if we had meaningful usery laws in the United States, the Personal Money Store would likely be put out of business.

UCAN has a very open policy on blogging. We want to hear your opinions, but if you engage in blogging for advertising, you may learn to regret it.
