Founded in 1983 by concerned San Diego citizens, the Utility Consumers' Action Network, UCAN, was formed to protect consumers from utility and corporate abuse. Since that time, UCAN's not-for-profit legal team has saved San Diego consumers billions of dollars in unfair utility rate hikes.
Today, UCAN brings legal actions, advocates policy initiatives, educates, and guards against corporate abuses in the energy, landline and wireless phone, internet, and gasoline industries, among many other areas. UCAN.org is the most visited consumer organization website of its kind on the Internet.
UCAN has been a fixture in protecting the rights of all California consumers, repeatedly challenging the largest corporate interests and pursuing the most significant corporate abuses. UCAN aggressively intervenes on behalf of its members with utility and other disputes with companies. If you want to be a part of UCAN, JOIN or RENEW your membership now!
